San Antonio Convenience Store Clerk Hospitalized After Confrontation with Beer Thief
SAN ANTONIO, TX – A 32-year-old convenienceโค store clerk is currently hospitalized withโข life-threatening injuries after a harrowing incident Saturday night on the East side of san Antonio. The clerk was attempting too prevent a theftโข when theโข suspect fledโค withโ him clinging to the hood of his vehicle.
Police respondedโค toโข a call around 11 p.m.โ at a convenience store located inโค the 1200 block of Rigsby Avenue. Officers arrived toโข find the storeโข open โbut unoccupied. Shortly after, dispatch received โreports of a โขman โขon the hood of a vehicle driving erraticallyโ in the vicinity.
Responding officers quickly located the injured clerk nearby. โHe was instantly transported to a local hospital dueโ toโ the severity of his injuries.
Investigators determinedโ that a suspect entered the convenience store and stoleโ beer. When the clerk attempted toโข intervene and stop the theft, theโฃ suspect drove โขaway with the โclerk holdingโ onto the hoodโ of the car. The clerk was โthrown from the vehicle a short distance from the store.
