SPRINGโ GROVE, Pa. – Communities across Spring Grove are mourning the loss of three police officers killedโ inโ a Wednesday afternoon ambush inโข North Codorus Township, with vigils held throughout theโ area, including a gathering at โSt. Paul Lutheran Church on โขS. Main Street. โขThe outpouringโ of grief reflects the profound impact of theโค tragedyโ onโ this York County community.
the St. Paul Lutheran Church drew at least 150 people seeking to honor โคthe fallen officers โand offerโฃ support to thierโฃ families and fellow โlaw enforcement. Located justโ two miles โฃfrom the site of the shooting, the church โserved as โขa focal point for โremembrance. Attendees โexpressed deep sorrow and โขa sense ofโค collective loss.
“We’ll no โขlonger have them;โค the community will no โคlongerโ haveโ them.We’ve lost someโ very,very nice men,” one โattendee โขshared. Another remarked, “Such a sad and somber time. I feel for the families, even for the parents โof the boy that, you know, did the shooting. And it just brings us all together, just to remember them and not forget them.”
Along โwith the vigils, the โcommunity is demonstratingโฃ its respect โฃby โฃflying flags at half-staff, illuminating outdoor spaces with blue lights, and establishing โฃmemorials at the Northern York County Regional Police Department, where the officers were โstationed.
