Belkin Power Bank Recall Issued Followingโ Reports of overheating, Fire Risk
Chilean authorities have issued an alert regarding a potential safety hazard wihtโฃ a specific model โคofโ Belkin โportable power bank. Teh National Consumer Service (Sernac) reports โthat the “BoostCharge USB-C PD Power Bank 20K” (model BPB002),โฃ sold in Chile between May 2024 and August 2025, can overheat and pose a fire risk due to a defect in a lithium battery component within the wireless charging support. Approximately 1,479 units are โcurrently in consumer possession.
While no incidentsโข have been reported in Chile, eleven cases of overheating and related accidents have occurredโ in the United States, Australia, theโ Unitedโ Kingdom, and Europe.Consumers who ownโข this power bank are urged to immediately discontinue use and store the device in a safe, โdry location away from flammable materials. Disposal in regular trash isโค not recommended due to the fire hazard.
Theโค recall affects all batteries with 14-digit serial numbers beginning with “35S.” Consumers can verify their serial number on the back of the device. Belkin is offeringโ fullโค refunds of approximately $39,990 (Chilean pesos) uponโฃ presentation of a purchase receipt or a photograph โof the โbattery’s front and back.
