Hart is one of five players from the team charged after a lengthy investigation and is now awaiting trial.

This has meant that Samuel Ersson has stepped forward as a key player in the Philadelphia Flyers.

He guarded the box again last night, saving 20 shots as the Flyers rallied from a 2-3 deficit heading into the final period to win 5-3.

Ersson also played in Philadelphia’s 2-1 away win over the Florida Panthers last Tuesday and was back in the stands last Thursday when they hosted the Winnipeg Jets in a 4-1 win.

The Flyers are in third place in the Metropolitan division behind the New York Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes.

Samuel Ersson impresses

Samuel Ersson has started 26 games for the Flyers this winter and won 15 of them. He has nine losses and three more losses in overtime.

Ersson is in tenth place, as the best Swede, in the goalkeeping league in terms of average goals conceded per game, where he has recorded 2.49 goals on average.

New acquisition Jamie Drysdale from the Anaheim Ducks scored one of Philadelphia’s goals.

“It was the type of game where it’s easy to get frustrated, but our coach (John Tortorella) came in during the second half and said he had a good feeling about the outcome, so we took that to heart,” commented Drysdale. afterwards.

This season, Jared Coreau has been one of Slovan Bratislava’s goalkeepers. He has not played any games since December.

That is why he has come out on the market recently.

Now many points to him ending up in Gävle. According to information to Expressen, Brynäs has set its sights on signing the Canadian.

There have been several tours in Gävle. They have had both Victor Brattström and Niklas Lundström on the table and been close to both, since they chose to fire Anders Lindbäck at the beginning of 2024.

Mutual interest between the parties

But nothing has happened, and they have carefully probed the market.

It is clear that Visby/Roma’s Filip Lindblad has been double-registered for games in both the Hockeyettan with Visby and the Hockeyallsvenskan with Brynäs. But the club needs a more permanent solution who can play, has the routine and can back up Damian Clara.

That track has now been found in Slovakia.

Expressen’s information says that they hope to be able to find a solution with Jared Coreau in Slovan Bratislava. There is a mutual interest between the parties, and he is currently the absolute main track for Brynäs.

Coreau has several years of experience in Detroit’s organization, and has played 18 NHL games. But mostly it has been about AHL games in North America.

By February 15 at the latest, sporting director Johan Alcén must land his goalkeeper acquisition.

Göran Hermansson played a total of 259 matches in the Elitserien and represented several classic Swedish clubs such as Leksand, Brynäs, Djurgården and Björklöven.

In the 1998/99 season, he played in Brynäs, which won the SM gold.

Hermansson spent the last years of his playing career in the Norwegian league with several seasons in Sparta Sarpsborg and Stjernen Hockey, where he became a valued profile. He remained in Norway after his career and worked, among other things, as a coach.

After a period of cancer, Hermansson passed away on Sunday at the age of 49, something that the Norwegian media wrote about on Monday. In the newspaper Sarpsborg Arbeiderblad Hermansson is described as “one of the very biggest hockey profiles in Østfold”.

Niklas Persson: “Didn’t know how bad it was”

Niklas “Pajen” Persson played several seasons with Göran Hermansson in Leksand in the early 2000s.

He says that they became close to each other and spent a lot of time with both family and children.

– I actually didn’t know how bad it was with him, which made this come as a shock. It is very tragic and I think of the family and everyone who was close to Göran, he tells Expressen.

– Göran was incredibly warm and had a big heart. He was very caring and a hell of a fun person to be around. Göran always made you feel good. As a player, he was incredibly serious and trained very hard. He always put the team and the club first. There is nothing bad to say about him.

Daniel Rudslätt: “We were very close”

Daniel Rudslätt and Göran Hermansson won SM gold together in Brynäs in the 98/99 season.

They also played together in Arlanda Wings.

– We were very close and followed each other up in Brynäs. We got to win gold together there, and it was a journey together that will always last.

Rudslätt continues:

– He is one of the kindest people I have ever met. He has an incredibly good heart. We had many great years together, then we haven’t had much contact after our careers. I actually didn’t know he was sick. It is incredibly sad for such a young person. Thoughts go out to his family and children of course.

Ove Molin was also part of Brynäs’ golden team and he remembers the time with Hermansson fondly.

– Göran was a fantastic teammate and an incredible team player. He was liked by everyone, says Molin to Expressen.

Malmö’s Adam Werner Leads Team to Third Straight Victory and Discloses Exciting News About Upcoming Fatherhood

Adam Werner has been Malmö’s first choice lately. Here he stands against an attempt from Oskarshamn’s Hynek Zohorna.

Things continue to be difficult for Oskarshamn in the SHL.

Malmö have switched up in the battle for the bottom and took their third straight victory on Thursday after a 5-1 crush against table jumbo Oskarshamn. And there was no talk of it. The loss was Oskarshamn’s fifth in a row.

– Difficult to analyze. Puck possession and game possession, it’s an even match. However, we make quite a few big mistakes and it shows where we are mentally. We don’t really believe in our hockey sense, says Oskarshamn’s coach Martin Filander.

– It sits mentally. We are a little too blunt, and make gross mistakes.

Fredrik Händemark’s 1-0 goal for Malmö in the first period was the start of a goal feast. The Malmö captain made sure in the second period to extend the lead to 2–0 before Anton Wahlberg made it 3–0 in the third period.

Oskarshamn grabbed a small straw with a reduction to 3–1 by Viktor Lodin, but a recovery was never close.

Instead, Adam Ollas sent Mattsson in 4–1 before Carl Persson set the final score at 5–1.

– I think we play a good away game. They are difficult to face. You never know where the matches will go. We were stable over 60 minutes, says Malmö’s assistant coach Mathias Tjärnqvist.

Became the first choice: “Have taken the chance”

The victory was the third in a row for Malmö. Adam Werner has kept the goal in the last four games. He has become a winner.

– The important thing is that we get points now. That’s where we are, it makes a little difference how it looks. We must have those three points and we have managed to do that recently, so we are trying to continue on this, says Adam Werner.

At the same time, the goalkeeper does not boast that it feels good with an upward trend.

– I think I played well all season really and had one or two games that dipped a little too much. Otherwise, I think it has been pretty stable right through.

Malmö coach Mathias Tjärnqvist praises his goalkeeper.

– It is up to him to show that he wants to stand, and he has taken the chance in a good way. [Daniel] Marmenlind is a heel, but for the moment Werner has taken a position, says Tjärnqvist.

About to become a father: “Absolutely wonderful”

But it’s not just in hockey that there are fun times for Adam Werner. At the beginning of March, he will become a father for the first time.

– It feels absolutely wonderful and I get a lot of energy from it. It’s easier to brush off the hard days when the results don’t add up. I don’t think as much about hockey now as I did before in a positive way. It feels great fun.

Have you purchased everything?

– I don’t know if you have everything first. But we survive the start in any case, says Adam Werner with a smile.

With a child on the way, there is a risk that Werner will miss games.

– We can take it then. It is clear that it is one thing that you do not want to miss, the first child and all that it means to be there to support. So we have to take it the day it is and we take it a little week by week, says Adam Werner.

AIK’s Kristoff Kontos Set to Miss Entire Season, Former Player Jake McGrew Released to AIK by Västervik

written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Kristoff Kontos looks set to miss the entire season.

In addition, they have several of their other important players injured in AIK, and have therefore run out of people.

It has forced the club to act.

Now, however, they have been caught, by series competitor Västervik. It is about the former AIK player Jake McGrew, who has not worked at all in a satisfactory way in Västervik. The 24-year-old American, who would be a leading scorer, has only accounted for eight points in 39 games.

Sports director’s comment

Therefore, Västervik is now releasing him to AIK, in return for financial compensation.

VT wrote on Wednesday that it was close to a sale. But according to Expressen’s information, everything is clear.

AIK’s sporting director Niklas Persson admits that they are looking to strengthen their squad, but does not want to comment on any names at the moment.

– We are looking at strengthening. We have injuries, and Kontos looks set to miss the entire season. That is where we stand right now, he says in a short comment.

During his last stay at AIK, McGrew accounted for six points in eleven games, before having his season ruined due to injury.

According to Expressen’s information, it is about a cost of just under a quarter of a million for AIK. Västervik is now looking for a replacement.

Liam Reddox in tears: “Want to thank everyone” | SHL

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 30, 2024
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Canadian Liam Reddox left a big mark during his eight years in Småland. Reddox won two SM golds and wore the C on his chest for four seasons.

Ahead of Tuesday evening’s meeting with Luleå, the 38-year-old was praised.

The Lakers fans wouldn’t stop chanting his name and as greetings from Reddox’s parents appeared on the jumbotron, tears began to roll down his cheek.

Reddox: “Ett Privilege”

Sports director Henrik Evertsson also had difficulty holding back tears.

– I want to thank everyone here for showing up today. It’s a special moment for me and my family, said Liam Reddox during his speech on ice.

– It has been a privilege to wear the jersey. I knew right away when I got here that this was a special place. I couldn’t put my finger on what, but it was something magical, continued Reddox, who had his wife Ashley and two sons in attendance.

Then Reddox’s number 85 was hoisted up into Vida Arena’s roof.

The Lakers fell against Luleå

Växjö did not manage to manage the atmosphere in the arena after the shirt lifting.

The meeting with Luleå was scoreless for a long time, but in the third period, Luleå’s Nikola Pasic broke the deadlock. Then Brendan Shinnimin settled the final score at 0–2.
