MSU Basketball Defeats Kentucky 82-74 in Champions classic
NEW YORK – Michigan State defeated Kentucky 82-74 Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden in the Champions Classic, marking a notable early-season victory for the Spartans. The game showcased strong performances from multiple MSU players,particularly guard kur Teng,who contributed 15 points in 18 minutes off the bench.
Teng’s impact was felt throughout the contest, hitting key shots in both halves. He finished 6-of-12 from the field, including 3-for-7 from three-point range, and added two assists, a steal, and a rebound. The Spartans were plus-17 while he was on the court. A pivotal moment came in the second half when Teng hit a contested three-pointer to halt a 6-0 Kentucky run and extend MSU’s lead.
Beyond Teng, MSU received valuable contributions from Trey Fort (13 points) and freshman Jordan Scott (12 minutes). The Spartans were plus-19 during Scott’s time on the floor.
