Sasthamcotta: A police inquiry is underway following an electrocution incident at Thevalakkara Boys High School in Sasthamcotta. The incident, which involved a student, has prompted the school to implement measures to ensure the safety adn well-being of its students.
the police report was filed at the sasthamkota Magistrate Court, with details of the incident reportedly recovered by an “unintentional department.” Statements have been recorded from teachers,the school management committee,and KSEB (Kerala State Electricity Board) authorities. The construction of a bicycle shed, initially attributed to the school, was later excluded, with the Minagappally Panchayat also involved. The panchayat’s fitness certificate was reportedly not issued without permission, leading to the exclusion.
The police anticipate completing their investigation within three months. In the interim, classes for students from Thevalakkara Boys High School will commence today at the nearby Girls High School. Counseling services will be provided to all students from both institutions. To facilitate this transition, four counselors will be available at each school over two days. The Department of Education has been informed of the situation by the School Management Committee. The school complex, including trees and an expired water tank, has been cordoned off.
