From Unfinished Exterior to Stunning Interior: A Bogor Homeowner’sโ Inspiring Change
A Bogor, West Java homeowner, Yulia Chaerani (known as โHera, 28), has captured attention online with her home,โข characterized by a deliberately simple exterior that sharply contrasts with its beautifully decorated interior. A โคrecent post showcasing the unfinished brick facade of her house went viralโค on โsocial media, prompting praise and curiosity.
The โinitial reaction focused on the contrast. As @zinniriz โคcommented, “Sis, you’re really cool, theโ most notable thing is comfort in the house first, I’ll just focus on the back andโฃ sides and terrace, the inside isn’t as aesthetic as you โฃare๐.”โค @rizkaarumf added, “In the name of God, โit’sโ going well, it’s already really good for now ๐.”
Hera explained to Wolipop that her focus was intentional. “The post is about home inspiration, and also โlow budget home decoration.โค That’s the back door of the house. Prioritizing theโข inside of the house over the outside as I realize that the inside of the house is where I spend the most time,” she stated.
Hera’s journey began in January 2023 with the โpurchase of land. She moved into the newly built house in July 2023, at which pointโ the exterior, including the terrace, remained unfinished. Work on the exterior,โ notably the terrace, continued for another year, andโ parts of the house are still โundergoing constructionโ as of theโ time ofโค the โฃinterview. She notedโข that the side and rear of the house “have notโ been repaired” yet.
Theโข 8×8 meterโข house wasn’tโ purchased move-in โขready; it was built from the ground up. The interior design process itself took approximately three years. Hera prioritized affordable decorative elements to create โคa significant visual impact. “Most of the time I decorate the interior using wallpaper and low budget materials,” she revealed.
Hera expressed her satisfaction with the final result and was surprisedโข by the overwhelmingly positive response. “alhamdulillah, I like it and I didn’t expect so many people to be inspired,” she โsaid proudly.
Hera hopes her story will inspire others. “Theโข message is that if you want to have a cozy home, you don’t have to have a lotโข of capital. We can use materials that are economically priced but of good quality. Just be diligent in โlooking for inspiration on social media and pinterest,” she advised.
