Sarah Ferguson is reportedly set to move into a renovated “granny flat” on an Oxfordshire property, following the scandal surrounding her ex-husband, Prince Andrew. The annexe, completed by previous owners but recently undergoing extensive renovations, is considered ideal for the Duchess of York as she navigates a changing public landscape.
The property offers Ferguson a potential base for rebuilding her public profile after reports suggested she lost roles with ITV.Neighbours say the annexe boasts a new self-reliant entrance, repointed stonework, and replaced gutters. While previous reports indicated Ferguson might consider relocating abroad – with family connections in Australia and Portugal – a move closer to home now appears more likely.
According to sources, the annexe has undergone a complete renovation in recent months. The stonework has been repointed and the gutters replaced, and the annexe has its own independent entrance, which it is said would be perfect for the ex-wife of the disgraced Duke of York.
It had been reported that Fergie intended to move abroad amid the wake of the Andrew controversy. Her sister and closest confidant Jane Ferguson lives in Australia, and Princess Eugenie has a ยฃ3.6million oceanside villa in Portugal.
Though, a move closer to home looks more likely for the grandmother of four, who has worked in this country as a TV personality in recent years. It may reopen avenues for work in the media here, despite reports which suggested Sarah lost her post on This Morning and other ITV programmes.
