PSSI Considersโ Timur Kapadze as Potential Indonesian National Team Coach
Jakarta – The Indonesian Football Federation (PSSI)โค is evaluating Timur Kapadze, the recently โdeparted assistant coach of Uzbekistan, as a candidate to lead the Indonesian national team. This comes after the vacancy created by the passing of Patrick Kluivert and โamid public support for kapadze, fueled byโ his success in guiding Uzbekistanโ to 2026 World cup โฃqualification.
The search for a new national โteam coach isโ underway, withโข Kapadze emerging as a strong contender. PSSI Chairman of the Nationalโค Team board, Sumardji, confirmed the federation is considering the 44-year-old tactician, though no formal discussions โฃhave yet taken place. “Currently there โขare no discussions. โ(Timur Kapadze) is one of the (potential national team coaches)โ that I conveyed to the โDirector of Technology,” Sumardji stated to reporters.
Kapadze announced his resignation from the Uzbekistan nationalโข team on Monday,November 10,2025,following the โappointment of Fabio Cannavaro as head coach by the Uzbekistan Football Association (UFA). Heโค has publicly expressed hisโข willingnessโค to coach the โขIndonesianโ national team, acknowledging the support from Indonesian fans.
Other candidatesโฃ reportedly under considerationโข include Bojanโฃ Hodak, currently the coach โof Persib Bandung, though the club has indicated its desire to retain him. โThe selection process is ongoing as PSSI seeks a coachโฃ to lead theโ national team forward.
