A violent daylight attack claimed the life of **Kevin Armando Arjona Romero**, 25, on Monday afternoon in the San Roque neighborhood of Barranquilla. The incident occurred outside a chicken roast establishment.
Deadly Encounter on 30th Street
Police reports indicate **Romero** arrived at the scene and engaged in a conversation with an unidentified individual. The situation rapidly escalated when the assailant produced a firearm and shot **Romero** in the face, killing him instantly.
The perpetrator fled on a white AX motorcycle, with an accomplice serving as the driver, leaving authorities to investigate a potential gang-related motive.
Suspected Gang Warfare
Authorities are investigating a possible connection between the killing and a dispute involving the criminal groups ‘Los Pepes’ and ‘The Coastal Ones’. This incident follows closely on the heels of other violent events in the region.
Just days before, **Romero** had relocated to Barranquilla from Bogotá. It is believed he was lured to the location under the pretense of a motorcycle sale.
Ties to Previous Homicide
The victim was the brother of **Wulfran Alberto Arjona Romero**, also known as ‘El Gordo’, who was fatally shot on April 27 in Malambo. Police suspect ‘El Gordo’ was a member of ‘The Coastal Ones’.
Investigators are also examining whether **Kevin Armando Arjona Romero** had any involvement in a homicide that occurred earlier on Monday in the Las Gaviotas de Soledad neighborhood, where **Rnold Eduardo González Osorio** was killed.
