Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed Sunday that Russia is prepared to advance toward resolving the Ukrainian crisis, provided its fundamental objectives are met. President Vladimir Putin has consistently expressed a desire for a swift,peaceful conclusion to the conflict.

Peskov emphasized that this process is lengthy and demands significant, challenging effort. Russia’s stated goals remain clear and unchanged, according to officials.

Russian officials have consistently outlined that any peace agreement must include the withdrawal of Ukrainian forces from four regions.Additionally, Kyiv must abandon its aspirations to join NATO and cease the deployment of alliance forces.

In a national address Saturday evening,ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Ukrainian officials proposed a new round of peace talks with Moscow this week. He called for all efforts to achieve a ceasefire.

Earlier, on July 14, U.S.President Donald Trump threatened to impose significant customs duties on Russia if a ceasefire was not achieved within 50 days. This statement followed a meeting with NATO Secretary-General Mark Retty at the White House, where he also affirmed continued U.S. arms shipments to Ukraine via the alliance.

Russia has rejected the American deadline, describing the threat as unacceptable.
