BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (October 27, 2025) – A Kern County jury has found Raffi Daniellian guilty of first-degree murder for the 2020โข shooting death of โคLavel Myers in Rosamond, stemming from a dispute over a broken window. Daniellian, 50 years to life, was sentencedโฃ today, October 27, 2025.
The incident occurred on October 19,2020,at a โresidence on โขGrandview Terrace in Rosamond. According to the Kern โCounty District Attorney’s Office, Daniellian โwent to Myers’ home to confront him about โtheโ damage.
Evidence presented at trial, โคincluding โคdoorbell camera footage, showedโฃ Daniellianโค waiting at the front โขdoor for over โtwo minutes, repeatedly ringing the doorbell. After โbeing acknowledged by Myers,โ Daniellian proceeded to the โback patio and instantly demanded paymentโ for the broken window. Daniellian initially pleaded not guilty โคbyโค reason of insanity in 2022. Following a verdict of โคfirst-degree murder โขon โคSeptember 17, 2025, a sanityโข phase of the trial commenced, with both the defence and prosecution presenting expert testimony. On September 25, 2025, the โjury determined โฃthat Daniellian was โคlegally saneโ at the time of theโ murder.
“Daniellian’s premeditated killing demands full accountability with the appropriate prison sentence,” statedโ District โคAttorney Cynthia Zimmer. “I am gratefulโ to the jury โfor their careful โคdeliberation and for acknowledging the gravity of his actions in taking an innocent life.”
Consequently of the sanity finding,Daniellian will serveโค his sentence inโ the California Department of Corrections, ratherโ than a mental health facility.
