## Matt โฃBrown Dismisses โขRonda Rousey Comeback Talk: “She’ll Getโ Destroyed”
Former UFCโ welterweight contender โฃMatt Brown doesn’t believeโ a potential returnโ to mixed martial arts for โRonda Rousey would end well, โbluntly stating she “will get destroyed.” Brown’s assessment โcomes as speculation continues regarding Rousey’s future, years after her departure โfromโ the UFC following consecutive โฃlosses to Amanda Nunes.Brown’s skepticism centers on the unforgiving nature ofโ MMA andโ the โrelentless pace of improvement within the sport. He argues that extended time away fromโ active competition creates an insurmountable disadvantage, regardlessโ of past โฃaccomplishments. โ”There’s a point where you’ve just got to say I’m done. I’ve spent enough โคtimeโ away from the sport that coming back is not going to be a good option for me anymoreโฃ and Ronda’s past that point without a doubt. She’s got toโฃ know it, too,” Brown said.
The veteranโฃ fighter believes โฃRousey’s ego might potentially โbe fueling anyโ consideration of a comeback. “The only question with her is โjust her ego. She realy thinks she’s the greatest fighter ever and she โcan probably take this time off and come back but it doesn’t work that way. It just doesn’t. You take a certain amount ofโ time off, it’s over. Everybody โคelse is training โeveryday. โขYou’re going to โget smashed โขin there.”
Rousey’s groundbreaking success propelled women’s โMMA into the mainstream, but Brown contends that popularity won’t translate to victory. “I wasn’t interested in watching her when she was fighting in her prime,” Brownโ stated. “So a comeback doesn’t interest me personally. Take that for what itโ is. Make up your own mind on โขit.”
While Rousey has found success in professional wrestling with WWEโค since leaving the Octagon, Brown emphasizesโฃ that this experience doesn’t โcompensate for aโฃ lapse in high-level MMAโ training โand competition. โขHe concludes that fame and past achievements are no substitute โฃfor the continuous dedication required toโฃ remainโ competitive in a constantly evolving sport.
