HONG KONG – Cristiano Ronaldo reachedโ a historic milestone Saturday, becoming the first player to score 100 competitive goals for four different clubs, but Al-Nassr fell to Al-Ahli in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw โคin the โฃSaudi โฃSuper Cup final at Hong Kong Stadium.
The 40-year-old Portuguese forward converted a first-half โpenalty, marking his 100th goal for Al-nassr since joining the club in December 2022. This achievement adds to his previous century tallies with Real โMadrid (450 goals), Manchester United (145 goals), and Juventus (101โ goals).
ronaldo’s accomplishment surpasses Isidro โขLangara, Romario, and Neymar,โ who each scored 100 or more goals for three different clubs. He currently holds the record for most international goals scored, with 138 goals for Portugal.
The match saw Al-Nassr take the led twice. Ronaldo’s penalty in the 41st minute was initially answered byโ Franck โขKessie for Al-Ahli. Marcelo Brozovic then put Al-Nassr aheadโ again with seven minutes remaining, onlyโ for Brazilian defender ibanezโ to โขequalize with a header from a corner,โ forcing the game โinto โa penalty shootout.
during theโ shootout, โขRonaldo successfully โคconverted his attempt, but a missed โpenaltyโ by al-Nassr’s Abdullah Al-khaibari proved decisive, handing Al-Ahli a 5-3 victory and the โfirst trophy โคof โthe โฃSaudi Arabian season.
Despite Ronaldo’s individual achievement,Al-Nassr continues itsโ search for a major trophy as his โarrival. The Saudi Super โCup pitsโ the winners of the Saudi Pro โLeague and the King Cup against each other.
