‘Married At First Sight‘ Star Lachlan Rofe dies Aged 47
Lachlan Rofe, who appeared on the Australian reality television show Married At First Sight, has died in New South Wales atโ the age โขof 47. NSW Police confirmed his death to the NZ Herald on Tuesday, โstating officers were called to a property inโฃ Razorback, south of Sydney, followingโฃ reports of a concern for welfare.
Rofe gained public attention during his appearanceโ on โthe 2018 season of the โshow, where he โwas paired with Tamara Joy. Beyond the realityโ series,โ Rofe’s life was marked by legal โissuesโ and controversial associations.In 2017, he was found guiltyโข of sexually touching a woman without her consent, receiving a 12-month good behavior bondโ which heโ later successfully appealed, having the guilty verdictโฃ overturned. He statedโค after the appeal, “Being a man of principle, I chose to โขclear my name.” โhe โฃalso expressed feeling targeted following the initial ruling, saying, “I’m toโ scared to even go see women ‘cos I just feel with everythingโข that’s happened, I just feel like I’m a target.”
Rofe’s family property was also the subject of an investigation regarding โalleged illegal tree clearing, though the outcome of that investigation was never publicly released by theโข local council. Rofeโ claimed at the timeโข that the scrutiny stemmed from jealousy, stating, “Everything has been cleared in line with legislation; peopel are just jealous of me as I’ve got fame.”
He was โฃalso linked to Natalie โฃCepenuik,โ who gainedโ notoriety in 2017 afterโค an image she postedโ online depicting a decapitated joey in her mouth sparked widespread outrage and โan โRSPCA โฃNSW investigation. Cepenuik had written alongside the photo, “I may have deep throated a joey’s neck”,โ accompanied by laughing and beer emojis.
It is currently unknown whether Rofeโข was in a relationship at theโ time of โhis death.
