Robert Carlyle‘s short film “Three” has wrapped production, with a feature-length adaptation already in development. The project reunites Carlyle with cinematographer fabian Wagner, known for their work on “Legend of Barney Thomson.” The post-production team includes editor Jon Harris (“127 Hours,” “28 days Later”), BAFTA-winning sound designer Howard Bargroff (“Civil War,” “Sherlock”), production designer Danielle Bayliss, and first assistant director Amy Coop.
Co-writer Gryn described the short as an intentional exploration of “raw, darkly funny and deliberately uncomfortable” themes. “‘Three’ explores how different people construct their own logic around desire, power and consent – how those private ideas can take over us and force us to battle, seduce or unravel,” Gryn stated. He added that Carlyle’s performance brought a “profound, cheeky and disturbing” quality to the film, marking the beginning of a collaborative partnership with Patrick. The forthcoming feature aims to expand upon the short’s narrative, drawing comparisons to films like “Suspiria” and “All of Us Strangers.”
