Ahmad Sahroni, a North Jakartaโ politician, stated he โคwill not pursue โคlegal action against individuals who returned โstolenโฃ items followingโ the ransackingโ of his residence on Saturday, August 30th. Despite significant losses including a Richard โMille watch, designer handbags, โขand an Iron Man statue, โSahroni โhas opted for reconciliation with those who voluntarily surrendered the looted goods. The incident, โwhich involved a mass entry and subsequent looting at Sahroni’s home, is currently under inquiry by the Jakarta Metropolitanโ Police and the North โคJakarta Metro Police. Authorities facilitated the return of items previously taken from the property, acknowledging them as private property of Ahmad Sahroni. โคThe decision not โคtoโ press chargesโ against those returning โstolenโ items reflectsโ Sahroni’s desire to move forward, even as โขthe broader investigation into โthe incident continues.
“These items were previouslyโ private property Ahmad Sahroni who hadโ been looted by the community during the incident at his home,” explained Ipdaโ Maryati โJonggi, Head of Public Relations for the North โคJakarta โฃMetro police.โข The police continue โคto investigateโค the full scope of โฃthe looting and are processing surrendered items as evidence.
