The Ministry of Health and Population said that evidence received from the Ministry’s surveillance centers indicates an increase in respiratory virus infection rates due to the onset of winter this year, which is the same rates recorded at the beginning of winter during the past four years.

The Ministry of Health has raised the level of preparedness in chest hospitals nationwide, coinciding with the advent of the winter season, to provide all health care services for respiratory patients, and all cases visiting hospitals suffering from symptoms of seasonal influenza and colds.

She confirmed that the presence of doctors, nurses and pharmacists is being intensified with the provision of all medicines and vaccines for seasonal influenza vaccinations, in addition to training doctors and pharmacists and vaccinating all members of the medical team against Corona and seasonal influenza.

Dr. Wagdi Amin, Director General of the Central Administration for Chest Affairs at the Ministry of Health, said that the level of preparedness has been raised in 32 chest hospitals across the Republic. He pointed out that the strategic stock is safe and the hospitals have medicines available and they are dispensed to the patient in outpatient clinics for free.

He added that surveillance units are being allocated in hospitals to detect seasonal influenza infections, various viral mutations, or new respiratory viruses.

He pointed out that the Ministry has a strong epidemiological surveillance system for infectious diseases in 27 facilities, and stressed that the respiratory syncytial virus is not a serious disease, but its spread rates are high, and the incubation period of the virus is from 4 to 6 days, and the recovery period takes from one to two weeks.

Respiratory Viruses in Children: Symptoms, Treatment, and Prevention

At the beginning of autumn, children under the age of two face respiratory viruses. During this period, the duty rooms receive even hundreds of cases daily. Doctors advise parents to take their little ones to the ER only if symptoms do not improve after three or four days.

Children, affected by respiratory viruses

Pediatric hospitals in Bucharest are full of children who sneeze, cough or have sore throats. A mother from Târgovişte arrived at the Emergency Department with both children, one aged two and the other aged six. For several days, the little ones had respiratory problems, including snot and cough. Although he administered home treatments, none worked.

Pediatric hospitals in Bucharest are full of children who cough, sneeze and cry. Raluca is from Târgovişte and arrived at the emergency room in the Capital with both children, one two and the other six. For several days she tried to manage the symptoms on her own.

They have colds, they have snot, cough, respiratory problems. We tried several things, but they had no effect and we had to come to the emergency room, says Raluca, the children’s mother.

At the beginning of the cold season, respiratory viruses are among the most common causes of illness in children, regardless of age. The little ones are exposed to all viruses, they constantly evolve and form immunity, having more or less severe manifestations of the disease.

There are a lot of viruses, one week he goes to kindergarten, two weeks he stays at home to recover. Having this cough, I was afraid of pneumonia, said a parent, who arrived at the hospital with the child.

The most common infections are those with rhinovirus, for which there is currently no vaccine. Specialists claim that children can be immunized against flu, COVID and respiratory syncytial virus.

How do we immunize children?

Doctors also teach us how to protect children from viruses and severe colds.

“The most important thing that will have to be done again is to relearn to wash our hands well. We have to play with children for the correct cough, and the correct cough is in the crook of the elbow, not in the hand and then touching the toy or the bathroom door handle. Let’s go outside as much as possible and air the classrooms. Our Romanian fear of currents must disappear, it doesn’t kill us, on the contrary, it protects us from viruses and bacteria”confesses Mihai Craiu, pediatrician.

“The nose is blocked, let’s unblock the nose, with sea water, we suck the secretions. He is in great pain, we give an analgesic medicine. He has a fever of 40 degrees, we give an antipyretic. Let’s not use the medicines used for the last cold or from the older brother”, added the pediatrician.

Books – Muhammad Abu Al-Majd:

Dr Muhammad Awad Taj al-Din, advisor to the president of the republic for health and prevention, said that we have already heard of bird flu, swine flu, monkeypox and finally camel virus, as they are diseases that they transmit from animals, birds and other creatures to humans, and there are many types of these viruses that can be transmitted to humans. Even the Corona virus, a type of bat was said to transmit it to intermediate animals and then transmit it to the ‘man.

“Taj El-Din” added, in a telephone interview to the “Hazrat Al-Citizen” program on the satellite channel “Al-Hadath Al-Youm” on Saturday night, that these diseases have a relationship between man and animal and vice versa, explaining that there are very many viruses that can be transmitted from animals and birds to humans, but these Diseases, as long as they are controlled, known and treated, and do not turn into an epidemic, there is no reason to worry about them.

And he went on to say that anticipation, prudence and epidemiological and preventive follow-up constitute a very strong barrier against the spread and transmission of these diseases, explaining that animals that are raised in birds and parrots can sometimes be carriers of some diseases, saying: “Pigeons in particular for generations have been feeding pigeons by mouth, which caused pulmonary fibrosis and severe immune fibrosis, and the rate of immune fibrosis from these birds was higher in females.

And Abizaid, adviser to the President of the Republic for health and prevention: “I would be concerned about the presence of birds and animals in some homes, but as long as there are vaccinations, continuous detection and continuous vaccinations, and all those who suffer from allergies or problems chest should stay away from these animals whenever that’s a good thing.”

He pointed out that respiratory viruses are famous and very many, especially influenza, which has many types and falls into respiratory viruses such as corona and respiratory syncytial virus, and most of them have the same symptoms, prevention and treatment, but their spread is through breathing, but in the midst of these conditions there is a group of respiratory viruses that spread between And the role of strict prevention comes to limit the transmission of viruses that are transmitted through breathing, spray, use of tools and touching contaminated tools. Prevention must be continued throughout the winter, saying, “I hope that when symptoms of cold, fever, cough and chapping appear in the body, sit down at home and get treatment.”
