Burlington Police Arrest Two in Connection with August Death of scott Kastner
BURLINGTON,Vt. – Burlington police have arrested two individuals in connection with the august 11th assault that resulted in the death of Scott Kastner, 42. isaiah Argro, 26, was apprehended Friday in Shelburne, and a 16-year-old suspect was arrested early Saturday at a nightclub in South Burlington. Both have been charged with second-degree murder and are being held without bail.
Kastner was attacked by a group of people on Church Street near City Hall, according to Acting Police Chief Shawn Burke. He died a few days later from complications due to blunt force trauma to the head, as determined by the chief medical examiner. The arrests mark a meaningful development in the investigation into Kastner’s death, which prompted a widespread search for suspects.
Detectives located and arrested Argro at a residence in Shelburne on Friday. The 16-year-old suspect was taken into custody in the early morning hours Saturday at a South Burlington nightclub.
Both suspects are scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Burlington.
