PONTIAC, Mich. – Erebus Haunted House is preparing for the Halloween season byโ offering “Scare School,” a training program for aspiring horror actors, beginning October 2, โ2025.The immersive course aims to equip participants wiht the skills to โคterrify visitors within โฃthe notoriously frightening attraction.
Erebus, โคconsistently ranked among the nation’s scariestโ haunted โคhouses, drawsโค thrill-seekers and โthose willing to test their courage. โคThe Scare school initiative underscores the haunted house’s commitment โto maintaining its reputation for intense scares and provides a unique chance for individuals interested in the art of fright. The program’s success โdirectly impacts the visitor experience and contributes to โฃthe attraction’s long-standing tradition of pushing fear boundaries.
The haunted house, located in Pontiac, Michigan, hasโ been operated by the Terebus family since its inception. Zac Terebus explained that the attraction features strategically placed “chicken exits”-actually fire exits-allowing patrons to request removal from the experience if overwhelmed. “At any point in theโค show, if you โsay, ‘I want out,’ we take youโ out, we escort you down, you end up here in the exit lobby, you can wait for yoru group to come on out,” he saeid.
The attraction also tracks visitor reactions with a “Wimpโฃ Out Score Board,” currently listing 10,711 “wimps”โฃ and 1,246 “wetters, pukers & fainters” – cumulativeโ totals since the Terebusโข family opened the haunted house. The โฃboard servesโ as โคa playful metric of โthe haunted house’s effectiveness and fuels a friendly competition among the actors to elicit the strongest reactions.
