Ministry of home Affairs Directly oversees Prabumulih Mayor’s Case Following Principal Dismissal
Prabumulih, South โคSumatra – The Ministry โคof Home Affairs (kemendagri) has taken direct control ofโ the case involving Prabumulihโข Mayor Irwan Prayitno, โคstemming โฃfrom his controversial removal of Roni Ardiansyah as Principal of SMP Negeri 1 Prabumulih. The move follows a determination that โขIrwan violated regulations regarding the transfer and dismissal of school principals.
Theโ Ministry’s intervention underscores concerns over regional leadership adherence โto โขestablished administrative procedures,โ notably those governing education personnel. The case gained public attention after it was revealed Irwan dismissed Roni due to dissatisfaction with the school’s handling of an incident โinvolving his child during a rainstorm. While Irwan later apologized and rescinded the dismissal following public outcry, the Ministry deemed the initial action a โproceduralโฃ violation warranting further scrutiny.
According to Mahendra, a spokesperson for the Ministry of โHome Affairs, the dismissal of Roni Ardiansyah was not conducted in accordance with Article 28โค of Minister of basic and Secondary Education Regulation No. 7 of 2025, which outlines the proper procedures for assigning โขteachers as principals. Furthermore, the dismissal bypassed the required โKSP-SPK SIM submission, the official managementโค details system for School Principals, Schoolโ Supervisors, and Education Personnel.
As a result of these violations, Irwan Prayitno has received a written warning from the Ministry. The Ministry emphasized that as a regional head and government official, Irwan is obligated to comply with applicable funding regulations and administrative protocols.
