Rebel Announces Cancer Diagnosis, Battles neurological Disorder
AEW personality Rebel has revealed she is battling primary pulmonary โlymphoma, a cancer of the lungs,โข alongside a separateโฃ neurologicalโข disorder impacting her mobility and speech. The โproclamation came via a recent post on her Instagram account.
Initially misdiagnosed with โฃcryptococcal pneumonia, Rebel stated, “And they found that it was notโ cryptococcal pneumonia this whole time and that it is primary pulmonary lymphoma, which is cancer โฃinโฃ the lungs, โคand if there is a โฃbest-case scenario, then I have it.”
Addingโค to the challenges, Rebel is also experiencingโ functional neurological disorder, which has affectedโ her ability to walk, requiring her to use a walker. She described further โsymptoms, noting, “And my ability to speak clearly, I don’t know if โขyou could โขtell, but sounds like I bit my tongue, and I’ve also lost the ability, or some ability, plus a function, I guess โคI should say, of my right hand, and I kind of have like aโ clawโค hand, and so โขit’sโข hard for โme to โuse my โright, my dominant hand.”
Rebel is currently undergoing an aggressive, full-time rehabilitation program for the neurological disorder.Before lymphoma treatment can begin, she is addressing a serious infection with IV antibiotics, with hopes of clearing it by December. A third bronchoscopy โis planned to determine the best course of actionโฃ – chemotherapy or radiation – with treatment anticipated to start around the beginning of 2026.
Known to AEW fans as the assistant to Dr. Britt baker, D.M.D., Rebel also previously competed inโ TNA/Impact Wrestling as a member of The Menagerie and The Dollhouse.
