Details from the 450-Page Charge Sheet in the Radhika Yadav Murder Case
A 450-page charge sheet has been filed by police in the murder case of Radhika Yadav, a 25-year-old tennis player, who was shot and killed by her father, Deepak yadav, onโ July 10th. The charge sheet details the events leading up to and surrounding the tragic incident.
According to the document, Deepak Yadav โhad been withoutโข sleep for two nights prior to the murder. Police allege that Deepak was increasingly concerned about hisโข daughter’s earnings and felt humiliated by comments from local people regarding her โemployment. This, the charge sheet states, โled him to believe โhe needed to act to preserve “family honor” and resulted in his decision โtoโ kill Radhika.
Theโ investigation revealed that Deepak Yadav โpracticed using his licensed โpistol for severalโ days before the murder, and even on the morningโค of july 10th itself. He โfired four bullets at Radhika while she was cooking in the kitchen, resulting in her immediate death.
Police have recorded statements from 33 โwitnesses, including neighbors โคandโ forensic experts, all of whom โare expected to testify in โขcourt. While some forensic reports have been received, โothers are still pending.
The charge sheet also clarifies that the murder was not motivated by a love affair, but was solely relatedโค to perceived damage to theโฃ family’s reputation. Frequent arguments between father and daughter wereโ also documented, with Deepak reportedly attempting โขto restrict Radhika’s movements and herโ work as a tennisโข coach. He initiallyโฃ supported her athletic pursuits, even accompanying her to competitions nationally and internationally,โ but later became resentful of her income.
Radhika Yadav, born on March 23, 2000, wasโข a promising tennisโ player, rankedโ 75th in Girls Under-18, โ53rd in Women’s Doubles, and 35th in Women’s Singlesโ by the โคAll India Tennis Association (AITA). She supplementedโค her athletic career by teaching tennis at academiesโ in โGurugram.
The first hearing regarding the chargeโฃ sheetโข is scheduled for โOctober 17th. Deepak Yadav’s lawyer, Shyambir singh, stated they have not โขyet received a copy of the charge sheet โคand will offer comment only after reviewing it.
