Queen Camilla Resumesโ Senior Remembrance Sundayโข Role as King Charlesโ Showsโค Emotion
LONDONโ – Queen Camilla today โjoined King Charles and other seniorโค members of the royal Family at the National Service of Remembrance in Whitehall, markingโ her return to a prominent role on the Foreign,Commonwealth & Growth Office balcony after missing last year’s event โฃdueโ to โขa chestโ infection.
Camilla’s presence signifies โขa return to the customary order of precedence, as last year the princess of Wales was the highest-ranking royal on the balconies in the Queen’sโ absence. โคThis โyear, โHer Majesty resumed leading membersโฃ of the Royal โคFamily from the โcentral balcony overlooking Whitehall.
Thousands gathered to witness the Remembrance Service, which included a march past theโฃ memorial โby approximately 10,000 veterans. โThe beginning and end of the two-minute silence were marked by volleysโ fired by the King’s Troop Royal Horse Artilleryโ from โHorse Guards Parade.
The Duke and Duchess โขof Gloucester also observed the service โfrom a โคbalcony. King Charles wasโ visibly moved during the silence, appearing โขtearful as the โฃnationโฃ remembered those who served. Duchess Sophie was seen wiping away โa tear asโค her husband, Prince Edward, โlaid a wreath at theโ memorial.
