The guidelines developed by the Ministry of Health and Population to combat the monkeypox disease revealed quarantine procedures at various ports of entry, as well as methods for reporting detected cases.

The guide indicated the need for immediate reporting of cases that match the case definition to each of the following (hospital director, health affairs directorate, protection room at the Ministry of Health).

The report includes information about the source of the report, demographic data, and the symptoms that the infected person is experiencing and the date of their appearance. It also includes the key information which must be collected through the survey form, risk factors and previous exposures such as contact with possible or confirmed cases, as well as travel history to countries where the disease is endemic or where cases have recently appeared.

The guidelines mentioned quarantine procedures, which include:
* Increasing the highest level of preparedness in all quarantine departments at airports, seaports, and land crossings, and implementing and tightening the health control procedures established for everyone who comes in from every country in the world.

* Health screening for all people entering from every country in the world through thermal cameras, thermal gates, or remote temperature measuring devices by quarantine teams at the ports of entry.

* Visual identification of passengers and transport crews arriving directly or indirectly on essential, special or cargo flights, and early detection of issues by monitoring any passenger under suspected to be infected with measles.

* Take maximum infection control precautions when dealing with suspected cases.

* Providing health medical staff (supporting human resources according to the size and intensity of operations.

* Enhances the basic capabilities of operating locations by providing medical equipment, supplies and infection control equipment, and medical medications.

* Raising the awareness of quarantine staff by introducing the situation and standard operating procedures to combat mosaicism.

* Coordinate with all partners associated with the ports of entry to immediately notify the flight crew of the aircraft and the Air Traffic Services Unit to report to quarantine any passenger who suffering from symptoms of a skin rash or any symptom of the suspected case.

* Passport officers will hand over any passenger suffering from a skin rash or any sign of a suspected condition for medical examination and assessment of the condition.

• Ground services ensure that procedures are in place for cleaning and disinfecting aircraft in the event of a suspected case, as well as the safe disposal of waste as hazardous waste under quarantine guidelines.
