Band Of Horses’ acclaimed 2006 debut,Everything All the Time,is getting a special 20th-anniversary edition on March 20 via Sub Pop. It’ll include rare and previously unreleased tracks, like their hard-to-find 2005 Tour EP, demos, and their song from the O.C. soundtrack,“The End’s Not near.”
The first taste from the expanded album is a studio version of the fan-favorite “(Biding Time Is a) Boat To Row,” accompanied by a new music video directed by James Ayling of cape Films and starring Josh Whitehouse of daisy Jones & the Six. You can watch it now.
Producer Phil Ek, who remastered the album, says albums should feel immersive. “I want records I produce to feel like you can walk into them, to have a three-dimensional depth. The music should stay as fresh and exciting as the first time you heard it.” He believes Everything All the Time achieves that, even after two decades.
A cornerstone of 2000s indie rock, everything All the time has sold over 500,000 copies. it’s best known for the single “The Funeral,” which has racked up over 458 million streams on Spotify. The song’s influence is widespread, having been covered, sampled, and reimagined by artists like Kid Cudi, lil B, and Gryffin.
“This album made all of my dreams come true,” says Band of Horses frontman Ben Bridwell. “I’m forever grateful for the desperation that inspired it.”
The band will celebrate the anniversary with a spring tour, kicking off april 9 in Portland, Maine. Before the tour, they’ll play two shows in their hometown of Seattle: an all-ages show at the Vera Project on March 19 and a two-night stand at the Showbox on March 21 and 22.
