LOS ANGELES – Miley Cyrus is contributing an original song,”Dream As One,” to the soundtrack of james Cameron‘s highly anticipated third Avatar film,Avatar: The Fire and Ash,set to release December 19.
The collaboration marks a notable moment for both the artist and the franchise, blending cyrus’s musical artistry with the groundbreaking visual world of Avatar. The song’s release on November 14, via Columbia/Sony, precedes the full soundtrack drop on December 12, and offers a new dimension to the film’s themes of unity and resilience. This contribution extends beyond a typical soundtrack appearance, as Cyrus actively participated in the song’s creation, infusing it with personal meaning.
Cyrus co-wrote “Dream As One” with Andrew Wyatt, Mark Ronson, and Simon Franglen, who also composed the film’s score. she shared her connection to the project in an Instagram post, stating, “Honored to support Avatar: Fire and Ash with an original song I’ve written with Mark Ronson and Andrew Wyatt.” Cyrus continued, “Having been personally affected by fire and being rebuilt from the ashes, this project holds profound meaning for me. Thank you, Jim, for the opportunity to turn that experience into musical medicine.The film’s themes of unity, healing and love resonate deeply within my soul, and to be even a small star in the universe the Avatar family has created is truly a dream come true.”
Avatar: The Fire and Ash stars Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Stephen Lang, Kate Winslet, and Edie Falco. The film continues the story begun in 2009’s Avatar and expanded upon in 2022’s Avatar: The Way of Water, with two further installments planned for release in 2029 and 2031.
Cyrus’s involvement follows the release of her ninth studio album, something Beautiful, and its accompanying musical film, both released this summer and currently available on Disney+ and Hulu.
