Oasis Release Live “Acquiesce” for War Child’s HELP(2) Album

by Emma Walker – News Editor March 2, 2026
written by Emma Walker – News Editor

Oasis has contributed a live recording of its 1995 B-side “Acquiesce” to HELP(2), a charity compilation album benefiting War Child UK, set for release this Friday, March 6. The track, captured during the band’s final performance of a seven-night residency at London’s Wembley Stadium on September 28, 2025, will be available as a standalone seven-inch vinyl single alongside the vinyl edition of the album, and as a hidden track on the two-CD version. It marks the first official physical release of a live recording from the band’s 2025 reunion tour, and will also appear on streaming platforms.

The inclusion of Oasis on HELP(2) revisits a longstanding relationship with the War Child organization. The band opened the original HELP album in 1995 with their song “Fade Away,” a project assembled in a single day on September 4, 1995, featuring a constellation of prominent U.K. Artists including Paul McCartney, Radiohead, Massive Attack, and Blur. Proceeds from that initial effort supported War Child’s work providing aid to those affected by conflict in Bosnia and Herzegovina, a region then embroiled in intense fighting.

HELP(2) boasts a diverse lineup of contemporary artists, including Olivia Rodrigo, who covers The Magnetic Fields, and contributions from Geese’s Cameron Winter, Arooj Aftab and Beck, Arlo Parks, beabadoobee, Portishead’s Beth Gibbons (performing a cover of The Velvet Underground), Big Thief, King Krule, and Sampha. Notably, the album also features a novel song from Arctic Monkeys, their first since 2022. NME reports the album was primarily recorded during a week-long session at Abbey Road Studios in London last November, with production led by James Ford, known for his work with Arctic Monkeys and Gorillaz.

The release of HELP(2) arrives as Oasis continues to navigate the aftermath of their highly anticipated 2025 reunion. Even as details regarding future releases from the tour remain scarce, the inclusion of “Acquiesce” suggests a potential strategy of selectively releasing live material. Rolling Stone Australia confirms pre-orders for the album are now available.

Mumford & Sons SNL: Hozier, Aaron Dessner & Sierra Ferrell Join Performance

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor March 2, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Mumford & Sons surprised audiences Saturday night with a performance on Saturday Night Live featuring guest appearances from Hozier, producer Aaron Dessner and vocalist Sierra Ferrell, just days after the release of their latest album, Prizefighter.

The British trio began their set with “Rubber Band Man,” enhanced by Dessner’s electric guitar work. Hozier then joined them onstage to perform his vocal part from the studio recording of the song, marking his first major public appearance since concluding his “Unreal Unearth” tour in October 2025.

For their second song, “Here,” Mumford & Sons were joined by both Dessner and Ferrell. Notably, the Prizefighter version of “Here” features vocals by Chris Stapleton, who was performing a separate concert approximately two hours away in Uncasville, Connecticut, on the same night.

Beyond the musical performances, Mumford’s Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane participated in a comedic sketch centered around an awkward workplace dance, where they performed a portion of “Unchained Melody.”

The Saturday Night Live appearance followed a low-key, unamplified performance earlier in the week at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, a 500-capacity venue. That show featured a four-piece string section and additional singers accompanying the band.

Mumford & Sons are scheduled to embark on a world tour beginning April 24th in Melbourne.

Radiohead Condemns ICE’s Unapproved Use of “Let Down” in Controversial Post

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 27, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

Radiohead has publicly condemned the use of its song “Let Down” in a recent social media video posted by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), demanding the agency remove the content and issuing a direct rebuke to the Trump administration. The band’s statement, released Friday, February 27, 2026, accuses ICE of “appropriating” the song without permission and characterizes the agency’s actions as “not funny.”

“We demand that the amateurs in control of the I.C.E. Social media account grab it down,” the band said in its statement. “It ain’t funny. This song means a lot to us and other people, and you don’t get to appropriate it without a fight. Also, go fuck yourselves.”

The ICE video, which appeared on the agency’s X account on February 18, features a choral rendition of “Let Down” overlaid with images of individuals described by the agency as victims of violence perpetrated by undocumented immigrants. The accompanying caption reads, “American citizens raped and murdered by those who have no right to be in our country. This is who we fight for. This is our why.” The video was also shared on accounts belonging to the Department of Homeland Security, the White House, and President Donald Trump, according to Rolling Stone.

“Let Down,” released in 1997 on Radiohead’s critically acclaimed album OK Computer, has seen a resurgence in popularity, recently debuting at number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart on August 30, 2025 – 28 years after its initial release. The song has been streamed over 690 million times on Spotify.

This incident marks the second recent instance of Radiohead members challenging the unauthorized use of their function. Earlier this month, guitarist Jonny Greenwood requested the removal of a portion of his score from the 2017 film Phantom Thread from a documentary about Melania Trump. Greenwood stated that Universal failed to consult him regarding the usage, a breach of his composer agreement.

The Trump administration has repeatedly faced criticism for utilizing artists’ music in campaign and promotional materials without their consent. Artists including Sabrina Carpenter, Olivia Rodrigo, and SZA have previously condemned the use of their songs in videos associated with the government’s immigration policies, as reported by Billboard.

As of Friday afternoon, the Department of Homeland Security had not responded to requests for comment regarding Radiohead’s demand. The ICE video remains posted on the agency’s social media accounts.

Gnarls Barkley Returns: New Album ‘Atlanta’ & “Pictures” Single

by Emma Walker – News Editor February 27, 2026
written by Emma Walker – News Editor

After an 18-year hiatus, the duo Gnarls Barkley – singer CeeLo Green and producer Danger Mouse – released their first single, “Pictures,” on Thursday, February 26, 2026, signaling the impending arrival of their third and final album, Atlanta, on March 6.

The song is an ode to the city’s Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) public transportation system, a detail Green described as “a full circle moment,” according to USA Today. Green, born Thomas Burton (later Calloway) in Atlanta, reflected on a childhood experience riding the MARTA train alone after school, an experience directly informing the song’s lyrics and themes.

“The song came from a childhood experience,” Green said in a statement to Spin. “I had a middle school principal who, every Friday, would tell me to go when I would get to school. Without fail. I was in eighth grade and I would leave school and ride the train alone from 8am until 2:30pm. The hook of the song is literally about being on the train. When you are in transit it’s like a motion picture passing you by.”

Gnarls Barkley first emerged in 2006 with their debut album, St. Elsewhere, and the chart-topping single “Crazy,” which according to Wikipedia, peaked at number two on the US Hot 100 and topped the UK Singles Chart. The album garnered Grammy nominations for both Record and Album of the Year and achieved platinum certification for sales exceeding 1,000,000 records.

The duo followed up with The Odd Couple in 2008, playing over 100 live shows, often incorporating elaborate costumes. Plans for a third album were consistently discussed, but individual pursuits delayed its realization. Green continued a multifaceted career, releasing solo albums, reuniting with his former hip-hop group Goodie Mob, and serving as a coach on the television program The Voice. Danger Mouse, whose real name is Brian Joseph Burton, formed the band Broken Bells with James Mercer of The Shins and produced albums for artists including U2, Adele, A$AP Rocky, and Gorillaz, as detailed by Wikipedia.

Atlanta is set to include the following tracklist: “Tomorrow Died Today,” “I Amnesia,” “Pictures,” “Line Dance,” “Turn Your Heart Back On,” “Let Me Be,” “Cyberbully (Yayo),” “Perfect Time,” “Sweet Evil,” “Boy Genius,” “The Be Be King,” “Sorry,” and “Accept It.”

The release of Atlanta is being handled by 10k Project/Atlantic Records. Whether the album will mark a definitive end to the Gnarls Barkley project remains unconfirmed, but the duo has described it as their final collaborative work.

Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2026: Lauryn Hill, Wu-Tang & More Nominated

by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor February 25, 2026
written by Julia Evans – Entertainment Editor

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame today announced its nominees for the Class of 2026, a list that includes first-time contenders Lauryn Hill, the Wu-Tang Clan, Jeff Buckley, Phil Collins, Luther Vandross, Shakira, P!NK, INXS, New Edition, and Melissa Etheridge.

Returning nominees include The Black Crowes, Joy Division/New Order, Oasis, Mariah Carey, Billy Idol, Iron Maiden, and Sade. Notably, Phil Collins is already an inductee, having been recognized as a member of Genesis in 2010, but this marks his first nomination as a solo artist.

The nominations represent a diverse range of artists and genres, reflecting what John Sykes, Chairman of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation, described as the “ever-evolving faces and sounds of Rock & Roll and its continued impact on youth culture.”

The voting process will involve a panel of over 1,200 artists, music historians, and members of the music industry. Inductees, along with recipients of the Musical Influence Award, Musical Excellence Award, and Ahmet Ertegun Non-Performer Award, will be revealed in April. The induction ceremony is scheduled to take place in the fall, though a specific date and location have not yet been determined.

To be eligible for nomination, artists’ first commercial release must have occurred in 2001 or earlier. This year’s ballot includes ten artists—Buckley, Collins, Etheridge, Hill, INXS, New Edition, Pink, Shakira, Vandross, and Wu-Tang Clan—who are nominated for the first time, despite having been eligible in previous years. Carey, Iron Maiden, and Joy Division/New Order are on the ballot for the third time, while The Black Crowes, Oasis, Sade, and Idol are second-time nominees.

Iron Maiden frontman Bruce Dickinson previously expressed a dismissive view of the Hall of Fame in a 2018 interview, calling it “an utter and complete load of bollocks” and criticizing its American leadership. It remains to be seen whether the band will accept induction should they be selected.

The 2026 class will follow the 2025 induction of Soundgarden, the White Stripes, Outkast, Cyndi Lauper, Bad Company, Joe Cocker, and Chubby Checker. Warren Zevon, Lenny Waronker, Carol Kaye, Thom Bell, and Nicky Hopkins were also honored with special awards last year.
