Boalemo, Gorontalo – As the rainy season begins, Helmi Rasid, Chairman โofโ Commission โฃOne ofโค the Boalemo Regency DPRD, โis urging the local Health Department (Dikes) and โขthe Regional disaster Management Agency โฃ(BPBD) too proactively implement dengue fever (DHF)โ prevention measures. โฃ Rasid stressed the importance of immediate community โขoutreach and education.
“With the onset of the rainy season, I’m calling onโข the Healthโ Department and BPBD to promptlyโฃ engage with the public to begin early dengue fever prevention efforts,”โค rasid stated.
Rasid emphasized the โขneed forโ swift socialization of โpreventativeโข steps, noting recent rainfall in โGorontalo, notably within Boalemoโ Regency. He cautioned against a reactive approach, โstating, “We โฃdon’t want a situation where agenciesโฃ onlyโ respond *after* cases of dengue fever emerge. Socialization must extend from the sub-district level down to the village level, ensuring broad community involvement.”
Theโ DPRD Chairman alsoโ appealed directly to residents to eliminate potential mosquito breeding grounds. “I hope the public will proactively anticipate dengue fever by draining standing water and avoiding waterโ storage, asโข these become breeding sites for dengue-carrying larvae,” he said.
Beyond โdengue โprevention, Rasid directed theโค Healthโ Department and โBPBD to maintain heightened vigilance and identify areas susceptibleโ to other rain-related disasters. “This rainy season requires attention not onlyโ to dengue fever,โฃ but also to potential floods and landslides. Mapping potential disaster zones by the Health Department and BPBD is crucial,” Rasid concluded.
