Anvisa Bans Salesโ of ‘Los Nobles’ olive Oil and ‘Zempyc‘ Weight Loss Supplement
BRASรLIA – Brazil’s National Health Surveillanceโ Agency (Anvisa) has ordered the seizure โฃof “Los Nobles” olive โoil and โthe weight loss supplement “Zempyc” nationwide, prohibiting their sale, โขdistribution, import, advertising, and use. The resolution, published in theโ Federal Official Gazette this Tuesday (16), stemsโ from concerns overโ theโข products’ origins and potential health risks.
Both โฃproducts are considered too be of clandestine origin. “los Nobles” olive oil โlacks authorization from anvisa or registration with โArgentina’s National management ofโ Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (Anmat), the agency responsible for regulating โฃsuch productsโ in Argentina. “Zempyc,” marketed online and through social media, promises weight loss but has โan unknown composition and utilizes misleading advertising claims,โค including fatโ burning, appetite reduction, and increased metabolism.
Anvisa’s action against “Zempyc” was prompted by the finding that the product’s label falsely associated it with a pharmaceutical company which confirmed it does not manufacture or control any product under that name. The agency emphasizes โtheโ risks associated with consuming products of unknown origin and composition, โparticularly those makingโฃ unsubstantiated health claims. Consumersโค who have purchased โคeither product are advised toโค discontinueโฃ use.
