[Comment from Kota Mizuno HC]

“As a result, I think we played a disappointing game in which I was completely unsatisfied with both the content and content. The team was unable to hold on when the flow deteriorated, was unable to take the flow into their own hands, and were unable to stop the opponent’s momentum. It was a game where I felt like we didn’t have the strength we needed, so we’ll remember this disappointment and use it as fuel for the upcoming season.”

[Comment from Sei Namizato]

“Today’s loss is disappointing. We have a game against Ryukyu coming soon, so we’ll all prepare well and work as a team to win next time.”

[Comment from Kota Mizuno HC]

“I’m very happy that the whole team was able to play well. What we need to do in order to aim higher is to do what we need to do until the end of the game.” We need to be able to continue playing. I believe this will improve our team’s ability and help us become stronger. So no matter which player plays, we will be able to express our own basketball for 40 minutes. This is what I would like to continue to aim for in the future.

Also, I think the challenge for our team to improve is to further improve the quality of our game or to finish without dropping when we have a maximum of 18 points difference. I would like to focus on that and once again create a team that can win with all 13 members of this team, and I want everyone to do that together.

(We had 9 points in the 2nd quarter. What instructions did you give at halftime?)
As for the offense, I wasn’t that pessimistic. Including the second quarter when we scored 9 points, we were getting open shots, and I didn’t think we were facing a defense that could really stop our flow, so we thought, “Let’s keep hitting like this.” We talked about this and that we would decide the second half ourselves.

During that time, we talked about some things we could fix, but rather than making any major changes, we sent our players out with the intention of once again playing in our own way.

During the screen game at the beginning of the second half, Hachimura made solid shots and I think he gave us a flow. He’s getting open because the big man has put up a good screen. We were able to play cooperatively to take advantage of each other’s strengths and strengths, so I think that was really good. ”

[Comment from Kei Igarashi]

“Since the last game against A-Tokyo, I think our style of basketball has been good.

The score was tied at 40-40 in the first half, but we were able to limit our runs in the second half, and we were able to score over 40 points, which was good. Right now, everyone is playing with all their might without thinking too much, and I think that’s leading to good results.

I only played for 6 minutes, but it had been a long time since I had played this long, so I stepped on the court without thinking too much about the score difference, and just enjoyed playing the first game in a while and contributing to the team’s victory. I was playing with the mindset that I could do it. I always prepare so that I can make a solid contribution no matter when I appear.

There’s talk that we’re dealing with injuries, but that’s no more than an excuse in this world, so we’ll continue to fight with the players we currently have. I think we have to win in this situation, and of course the players and staff are not satisfied with the current results. The players and staff will be thinking about what they can do to the best of their ability, so rather than looking ahead, the first thing we need to do is to make sure we hit the ball well on the court each game and score as many points as possible. I think we are playing this game with the goal of winning in mind. ”

[Comment from Aren Hachimura]

“Today we played at a high pace, which is what we are good at, and we were able to play with good intensity just like we did against A-Tokyo, so I think we were able to come away with a solid win.

Personally, I wasn’t able to finish the game on a good note at the end of the first half, and I made a bad substitution, so I was thinking of changing my mindset in the third quarter and actively taking shots. The first play of the third quarter was a set play that used me, so I felt really comfortable taking the shot. I think that was the reason why I was able to continue making shots after that.

In the match against FE Nagoya, we focused too much on defense and had a bad rhythm on offense for a long time, which caused us to lose two games in a row, so we as a team focused on our strengths on offense.

Today, just like against A-Tokyo, we were experimenting with a small lineup, but I think the biggest reason for our victory was that we were able to run the offense with a really good rhythm. ”

Q. Review of today
There were some good moments on defense, and I think it wasn’t a bad game overall. However, a combination of small mistakes such as a turnover in the 4th quarter and a missed layup cost us the victory. Today we gave young players a chance and they performed very well. I think that practicing hard on a daily basis led to my results. Also, for the first time in a while, we were able to have three foreign nationals play in good condition, and as we continue to assemble our roster, I think we will be able to win games if we improve ourselves little by little.

Q. Review of today
Just like the match against Nara, this match was a match we absolutely had to win, but our opponent took control of the match. I think our defense was good, but I have the impression that there were many periods where we were unable to convert our defense into points. Stacey has joined us and we have only been able to practice three times so far, but we are starting to see his strengths, so we will make use of his strengths and try to score points in a well-balanced manner both inside and outside. I think it is our weakness that we have lost consecutive games even though we had many winnable games. I think it will be difficult for us to rise from the bottom unless we do something to win. We will continue to fight as a team without looking down.

Q. Review of today
I am grateful that I was given long playing time for the first time in the game. Although I was lacking in many areas compared to other players in the limited time available, I played while being conscious of reducing turnovers, which is also an issue for the team. I will do my best to contribute to the team’s victory by playing to my strengths.

Q. Review of today
Up until now, there were times when not everyone was concentrating on defense, and the flow often went against the opponent. However, even though we only shot 35% from the field today, we were able to fight until the end, which was a good thing because we were able to maintain a good defensive mindset and flow as a team for a long time. I’m proud of the players’ efforts today.

Q. Review of today
This was a game we absolutely had to win. Let’s create a rhythm from defense today! The whole team entered the match with a lot of energy. In the final match, we showed impatience and made a series of small mistakes, and I think our weaknesses were exposed when we were just one step away. We would like to work as a team to win even in competitive matches.

Q. Review of today
Basketball is a sport where both teams have possession. Naturally, the more possession we have, the more chances we have to win and the more shots we concede. Shiga had 65 possessions and Niigata had 47 possessions and 21 turnovers, so I think it will be difficult to win with this. Also, today we used a different press break strategy to deal with the opponent’s press, but our guards were unable to execute that strategy, resulting in more turnovers.

[#34 Yoshi Endo comment]
Q. Review of today
I was able to hit as many shots as I could today. However, from the beginning of the game, we allowed turnovers and easy shots to our opponent, and we were unable to score in the paint, which I think led to our loss. I think we won’t be able to win even winnable games unless we fix turnovers and offensive rebounds, which have been issues for a long time, so I’d like to work as a team to fix them for the next game.

Q. Review of today
We scored about 20 points from 16 turnovers. The same goes for the offensive rebounding part, but these mistakes had a big impact on the result. There are some difficult parts as we continue to play away, but we continue to make mistakes like we did today, which leads to our defeat. I think we need to continue to reduce the number of simple mistakes.

[#14 Daichi Tomioka player comment]
Q. Review of today
There was a period when our offense was stagnant, so we focused on speeding up and moving the ball forward. Also, if it’s open, take a shot! I played with that feeling. We had a lot of turnovers and offensive rebounds, so I think it will be difficult to win. Tomorrow, the entire team will make adjustments and compete.

[#55 Kyle Hunt player comment]
Q. Review of today
I think the biggest reason for our loss in today’s game was the turnover and the offensive rebound. Tomorrow, we will work to improve our turnovers and rebounds while communicating with the entire team, and play in a way that eliminates our opponent’s inside strengths as much as possible.
