Two films with Shaji Kailas and Prithviraj were released last year. Tiger and Kappa. The tiger was the first to arrive. The theatrical release of the film was on July 7 last year. On August 4, the film was released as an OTT release through Amazon Prime. Now eight months later, the Tamil dubbed version of the film has been released in Tamil Nadu. The film has started screening in around 65 screens in Tamil Nadu. The release of the film was yesterday (March 3). The film is released in Tamil Nadu by Tirupati Pictures.

The Malayalam version of Katuva collected 25 crores in its first weekend of release. This was Prithviraj’s best initial in his career till then. Tiger has achieved the collection of Janganamana in eight days in the first four days itself. The film was also helped by the successful release of the foreign dubbing versions with great publicity.

Tiger was Shaji Kailash’s comeback film. Katuva was the first film announced by Shaji Kailas after a gap of eight years in Malayalam. Pratish issued a threat on Facebook saying, “If you want to show something wrong in Guruvayoorappan name, listen to his Variyam Kunnan announced by Rajumon (Prithviraj).” Pratish Vishwanath said in a Facebook statement that ‘Unnimukundan is capable of creating a sense of direction for Malayalam filmmakers’. The hashtags ‘Unni Mukundan’ and ‘Malikappuram’ were also added to the note.
