A Los Angeles dinner party hosted by Emma Grede and attended by Meghan Markle has drawn sharp criticism from restaurant critic william Sitwell, who described the event as “the worst” he’s ever witnessed. The gathering, held on Wednesday at the home of designer Kelly Wearstler, featured a vegan menu and wine from Markle’s own brand, As Ever.
Sitwell, writing in The Telegraph, unleashed a scathing review, labeling the party “ghastliest, most grotesque, most vulgar, most shallow, most revolting, most tasteless, most vacuous and most vainglorious.” He criticized the extensive documentation of the event on social media, stating, “Because splashed all over Instagram and the like was endless posing before, during and after Wednesday’s party, in a circle of self-congratulatory, vain adoration. It was all about telling the world they were there, and you were not.”
Despite the harsh assessment, Emma Grede offered a contrasting view, describing the attendees as ”the most incredible group of women” and characterizing the evening as “a night built around connection… where women came together to share stories, exchange lessons, and lift each other higher.” Grede was photographed seated next to Markle during the event.
The dinner party, titled ‘A Seat At The Table,’ was organized by Grede, the British CEO of Good American and a founding partner of Skims.
