Duchess Meghan‘s expectations of Royal Life Clashed with Reality, Leading to Departure
LONDON – Expectations of a “fairy tale” life within the British Royal Family collided with the strict protocols and duties required of its members, ultimately prompting Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan to step down from their roles and relocate to the United States, according to royal experts.
Sources indicate Meghan reportedly preferred socializing with friends over fulfilling royal engagements, a disconnect that became apparent soon after her marriage. Grant Harrold, a royal commentator, stated, “I think Meghan’s problem is that she assumes that her own life will be like this after grew up following the Disney princesses. But when you join the royal family, there are strict rules and protocols you need to follow. And Meghan did not want to do any of this.”
Royal schedules are frequently enough planned months in advance, a factor Meghan seemingly underestimated.Experts also suggest Prince Harry may not have fully prepared Meghan for the realities of royal life, despite her likely awareness of the existing rules.
hilary Fordwich, a royal family expert, explained that while Meghan may have been drawn to the “dazzling, glory, advertising and glory” associated with royalty, the monarchy fundamentally centers on “commitment and service to the task.”
Two years after their wedding, Harry and Meghan moved to the United States, seeking a life free from royal constraints. This transition allowed Meghan freedoms previously unavailable, such as sharing photos on social media – a practice prohibited during her time as a working royal. Though, reports suggest they still haven’t fully achieved their desired outcome. Meghan, it is said, desired the fame and attention but not the accompanying scrutiny, regulations, and compromises. The restrictions, even extending to seemingly minor details like hosiery requirements, ultimately proved unsustainable, leading to their decision to leave the UK and the Royal Family.
