The Reds Fans Get Ticket Discounts Before the Man City vs Liverpool Match

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com March 23, 2023

Jakarta –

Manchester City has cut the ticket quota that will be given to Liverpool ahead of the meeting between the two teams in the Premier League early next month. The Reds did not accept and filed a complaint.

Man City vs Liverpool will be held at the Etihad Stadium on April 1 2023. As reported by the Daily Mail, visiting teams will usually receive three thousand tickets. But for that match, the Reds’ quota was reduced by 20 percent to just 2,400 tickets.

The reduction is an agreement made between Man City as the host along with the Greater Manchester Police and the local Security Advisor. The decision was taken referring to a number of problems that arose when the two teams met.

Liverpool and Man City have indeed become the main forces of the Premier League in the last five years. So it is only natural that tensions arise between the groups of supporters of the two clubs. It’s just that this rivalry is considered to have gone too far.

Last December, the two teams met at the Etihad in the fourth round of the English League Cup. In the match that Man City won 3-2, there was an incident of throwing pots that were weighted from the visiting team’s stands towards Man City supporters.

A 15-year-old girl is known to have been hit by the throw and was injured. There was blood on the scarf he was wearing. The incident made Man City start to be careful. They even started to consider installing a net to limit the visiting stands.

Liverpool themselves objected to the reduced ticket rations. They, in an official statement, “have been in contact with the Premier League and Manchester City to question this decision.”

The Reds, who need to win their remaining 12 matches to chase a top-four finish, continued that they are “committed to having the maximum possible number of supporters on the road.”

Man City is also not without losses. They also could not use the 600 tickets that should have been given to Liverpool, making their income slightly reduced. However, they argue that security is the main thing at this time.

Haaland Has Equaled Aguero’s Season Goal Record in the Premier League

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com February 16, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Jakarta –

Erling Haaland already scored 26 goals in the 2022-23 Premier League, equaling the best record Sergio Aguero in one season while defending Manchester City. With the remaining matches remaining, the Norwegian striker has a great chance of surpassing the achievements of his predecessor.

Haaland scored his 26th goal against Arsenal in the Premier League continuation at the Emirates Stadium, Thursday (16/2/2023) WIB. In the 82nd minute, he completed Kevin De Bruyne’s pass with a low shot into the left corner of the goal guarded by Aaron Ramsdale.

This goal was Haaland’s first in February, ensuring Man City won 3-1 while simultaneously pushing Arsenal off the top of the standings. The two teams both collected 51 points, but The Citizens were superior on goal difference.

Haaland now only needs one more goal to beat Aguero’s best. During 10 seasons defending Man City, the former Argentine striker ‘only’ scored 26 goals in one season in the Premier League at most, and that happened in the 2014-15 season.

If Aguero needed 33 appearances to score 26 goals, then Haaland only needed 22 appearances. With 15 matches remaining in the Premier League this season, it is very likely that the number of goals will increase.

At present, there are not a few who favor Haaland being able to score the record for the highest number of goals in one season in Premier League history. This record is still jointly held by Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who scored 34 goals.

As a reminder, Haaland’s goals tally so far is on par with Aston Villa’s, and more than Crystal Palace (20), Nottingham Forest (17), Wolverhampton Wanderers (17), West Ham United (19), Everton (16), Bournemouth (20), Southampton (18), and… Chelsea (23).

Spurs conceded three times in the first half

Leicester –

Leicester City led 3-1 at half-time when they hosted Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League this season. Coming from behind earlier, The Foxes then got up by scoring three goals with three different players.

Playing at the King Power Stadium, Saturday (11/2/2023), Tottenham opened the scoring in the 14th minute. Through a corner kick situation, Ben Davies’ header hit Victor Kristiansen, but the wild ball headed for Rodrigo Bentancur.

The Uruguay midfielder then scored the ball into Leicester’s goal, which was guarded by Danny Ward. The Video Assistant Referee (VAR) had time to check the process of the goal because Bentancur was suspected of being offside, but the referee later stated that no procedures had been violated.

But that advantage did not last long. The hosts managed to equalize the score at 1-1 in the 23rd minute. Through a corner kick, Timothy Castagne’s header was cleared by Bentancur, but the wild ball was struck by Nampalys Mendy.

A first-time shot from him hit the right corner of Fraser Forster’s goal, who replaced Hugo Lloris in this match. Two minutes later, the former England national team goalkeeper conceded another goal.

Wout Faes managed to snatch the ball from Tottenham in the middle of the field, then quickly sent a through ball to Kelechi Iheanacho, who then passed it on to James Maddison.

In a one-on-one duel, he calmly beat Forster with a horizontal kick into the left corner of the goal. Leicester went back to lead 2-1.

Iheanacho almost added to Leicester’s advantage, if his left-foot shot in the 26th minute was not blocked by Forster. The Nigerian striker just scored a goal in injury time.

Receiving a longball from Harry Souttar, Iheanacho brought the ball to the front of the Tottenham penalty box. Even though he was overshadowed by Eric Dier, he sent the ball into the left corner of the goal without Forster being able to block it. Score 3-1 lasted until the break.

Player lineup

Leicester City: Ward, Castagne, Souttar, Faes, Kristiansen, Mendy, Dewsbury-Hall, Tete, Maddison, Barnes, Iheanacho.

Tottenham Hotspur: Forster, Ben Davies, Dier, Tanganga, Perisic, Bentancur, Hojbjerg, Pedro Porro, Son Heung-min, Kulusevski, Kane.

London –

The 1-1 score closed the first half of the big match Premier League between Arsenal vs Manchester United. Both teams had a number of good chances, but only managed to score one goal each.

Playing at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (22/1/2023), Arsenal already gave a threat in the 3rd minute through Thomas Partey’s left-footed shot, but deviated from the target. In the 9th minute, Gabriel Martinelli’s long-range shot also failed to aim at the goal.

MU, who were depressed, actually took the lead in the 17th minute. Marcus Rashford cut off Arsenal’s attack, then the wild ball was controlled by Bruno Fernandes and returned to Rashford.

After outwitting Partey, the 25-year-old striker fired a long-range shot that nestled in the left corner of the Arsenal goal without Aaron Ramsdale being able to block it. United lead 1-0.

It didn’t take long for Arsenal to equalize the score. In the 24th minute, Granit Xhaka’s cross was successfully struck Eddie Nketiah with a hard header that David de Gea couldn’t stop.

MU again got a golden opportunity in the 28th minute. An attack from the right side was completed by Scott McTominay with a long-range shot that led to the right corner of the goal, but Ramsdale brilliantly brushed it off.

Score 1-1 draw lasted until halftime.

Player lineup

Arsenal: Ramsdale, White, Saliba, Magalhaes, Zinchenko, Odegaard, Partey, Xhaka, Saka, Nketiah, Martinelli.

Manchester United: De Gea, Shaw, Martinez, Varane, Wan-Bissaka, McTominay, Eriksen, Rashford, Fernandes, Antony, Weghorst.

De Gea Wonders Arsenal Have ‘Off’ Week Ahead of Facing MU

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 19, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com
London –

David De Gea criticized the Premier League schedule given to Manchester United before facing Arsenal this weekend. According to him, the Gunners benefited from having longer rest periods.

MU had just been held to a 1-1 draw by Crystal Palace in the Premier League continued, Thursday (19/1/2023) early morning WIB. Meanwhile, Arsenal did not play in the middle of this week. They have a week off since beating Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 last Sunday.

This difference in rest time was highlighted by De Gea. Moreover, MU’s visit to Selhurst Park resulted in Casemiro’s fifth yellow card this season, so he had to miss against Arsenal and became a loss for Erik ten Hag’s squad.

“To lose Casemiro on Sunday is a big loss,” De Gea told Sky Sports.

“I don’t understand why Arsenal didn’t play and we should have played the same week but they didn’t. Now we have lost one of our best players.”

“I don’t understand this. Now we have lost him for an important match and this is a big loss for us,” said the goalkeeper from Spain.

Mirror reported, the Crystal Palace vs MU match was supposed to be held on September 11 2022, but was postponed due to the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Arsenal actually also have a postponed match against Manchester City for similar reasons.

It’s just that, the Arsenal vs Man City match has been shifted to February 16. Meanwhile, the Crystal Palace vs MU match cannot be moved to next month because the Red Devils must face Barcelona in the Europa League playoffs on February 15.

Arsenal, who are also playing in the Europa League, do not need to go through the playoffs because they are certain to advance to the last 16 after finishing first in the group stage. MU must go through the playoffs because it only finished runner-up.

That way, it can be explained why MU was put to play against Crystal Palace this weekend. It’s just that, De Gea’s anxiety can actually be understood because MU doesn’t have much time. The schedule against Crystal Palace was only announced earlier this month.

Arsenal are currently at the top of the Premier League standings with 47 points from 18 matches. While MU ranks third with 39 points from 19 matches. Arsenal vs MU will take place at the Emirates Stadium, Sunday (22/1) at 23.30 WIB.

London –

Arsenal it’s terrible right now. Gunners performance makes ‘forecast’ Jose Mourinho back true.

Arsenal have been brilliant this season. London Cannon topped the Premier League standings, ahead of Manchester City and Newcastle United.

Mikel Arteta began to show his quality at Arsenal, in his third season as coach. Under the direction of the Spanish manager, Granit Xhaka et al performed brilliantly by packing 15 wins, two draws and just one defeat.

Arsenal’s performance was obtained thanks to being inhabited by mature players. Only Granit Xhaka, who is 30 years old, is the oldest player, and the rest are a number of young players in the line-up, such as Gabriel Martinelli (21), Bukayo Saka (21), Martin Odegaard (24) and William Lilina (21).

Resounding performance Arsenal under Arteta made the comments Jose Mourinho viral again. The Portuguese coach, who has coached Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur, once praised Arsenal below Mikel Arteta.

It happened after a match in the 2020/2021 season, when Mourinho was coaching Tottenham. After winning 2-0 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, Mourinho said Arteta really only needed time to make Arsenal triumph again.

“Tactically they were very good, very organised. They gave us problems but we managed to overcome them. Their tactical courage was very good and the spirit was also great. They are a good team and Arteta is a good manager,” Mourinho said at the time, reported by Sky. Sports.

“We read the direction of the game, and made some changes to win it, my players did well today.”

“Arsenal not in a good position in the table but I believe with the players and Mikel Arteta Arsenal will be Arsenal again.” Jose Mourinhowho has now coached at AS Roma.
