Among those several blockbuster stars, one is Fish Venkat. He is an actor who may not have been in headlines all the time but is known by the people forย his comic roles. He has been a familiar face on-screen for years.
However, recently the Telugu actor has been making headlines because of a serious reason which is his health. Reportedly, he was battling with kidney failure which has worsened and is in urgent need of a kidney transplant. His health has been a concerning topic for fans and stars from Telugu industry.
Fish Venkatโs early life

Fish Venkatโs real name is Venkat Raj. He was born and brought up in Hyderabad, Telangana, where he spent his childhood and youth. From an early age, he was drawn towards cinema and entertainment. Eventually he found his way into the Telugu film industry. He is also known for his Telangana accent, which also became a unique aspect in his performances. In his personal life, he is married to Suvarna and the couple has a daughter, Sravanthi.
Fish Venkatโs career
Fish Venkat started his journey in early 2000s by stepping into the Telugu cinema. He made his debut with the film, Kushi. Slowly and gradually, with his unique Telangana accent, fun expressions and amazing comic timing, he became one of the most recognisable supporting actors in the industry. Over the years he worked on several films, including Bunny, Adhurs, Dhee, Gabbar Singh, and DJ Tillu. Each of his performance helped him earn a loyal fan base. Even though was not very big, he still managed to win hearts every time he was on-screen. His most recent films include, Slum Dog Husband, Narakasura and Coffee with a Killer. He has been in the industry for more than two decades and apart from doing comedy, he has also played negative characters (villian).
Fish Venkatโs health condition
Fish Venkat’s battle with his health started around nine months ago when his kidneys started failing, which made him undergo a routine kidney dialysis. His condition worsened recently, when his kidney failed and he was admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad. He was put on a ventilator, when doctors informed his family about the kidney failure. Doctors also mentioned that the only solution is a kidney transplant which will cost around Rs. 50 lakhs. Recently, his daughter, Sravanthi made a heartfelt public appeal, where she asked for help for people and co-actors with whom her father had worked. She also shared that actor, Prabhas’ team had contacted them and said they will give Rs. 50 lakhs for the transplant. She had shared:
“Daddy is very unwell and in a serious condition. Heโs in the ICU and requires a kidney transplant, which will cost us at least Rs 50 lakh. Prabhasโ assistant reached out to us and assured us of financial support. They asked us to keep them informed when the transplant takes place so they can cover the cost.”
However, Fish Venkatโs wife later said that while the pledge was made, no funds or follow-up have actually reached the family yet. Reportedly, Telugu actor, Pawan Kalyan has also offered a help of Rs. 2 lakhs to the family. Apart from financial help, the major issue that Fish Venkat and his family is facing is to find a donor. Reportedly, because of certain reasons, his own family is unable to donate him a kidney and they havenโt found any other donor yet. Fish Venkatโs daughter had requested people and South Indian actors like Allu Arjun, Jr. NTR and more to help the family find a donor.
