Germany‘s Schneider Admitsโฃ World Cup Hopes Remain โขDistant
Germany’s 2014 โคWorldโฃ Cupโ champion Benedikt Schneider conceded the national team is currently far fromโฃ contentionโ forโฃ a major โขinternational title, but expressed optimism for future advancement with key players returning from injury.
Schneider,โ speaking recently, acknowledged a important gap between Germany’sโ current form โand the level required to compete for the World Cup. “It is indeed trueโ that we are at the moment light years fromโข being able to talk about winning the World Cup,” he stated.โ He clarified that with the next majorโ tournament not imminent, there is time for recovery andโค rebuilding. “But itโ will not be played this summer, and theโฃ next one.At the moment we are really not in โgoodโ shape.โ But let’s wait for the right players to recover in the summer,”โค Schneider concluded.โ
The assessmentโค comes โas Germany navigates a period โฃof transition and rebuildingโ following recent performances. The team will be looking to capitalize on player recoveries to improveโ theirโฃ standing in international โcompetition.
