Surprising 2-2 Draw between Rivals Palmeiras and Corinthians
The draw ended up prevailing in the clash between rivals Palmeiras, by Abel Ferreira, and Corinthians, by coach António Oliveira (2-2). A frantic final few minutes changed the course of events in a truly surprising way.
In a first half where there was a lack of clarity in the last third, it was the group alviverde who managed to open the scoring, to the delight of the home fans. In the final stretch of the first half, Endrick, moving from right to left, found an opening to set up the shot, shooting well. Cássio still touched the ball, but was unable to change the trajectory.
Following a song, the greenIt would extend the advantage in the second half. The Argentine won in the heights and headed accurately towards the far post. Everything would lead us to believe that it would be the home team to score the three points…
However, the last minutes of the confrontation were truly frantic. Yuri Alberto, in the 87th minute, gave the best follow-up to a low cross from Gustavo Mosquito, fortuitously counting on a small deflection.Â
The outcome would actually end up being different from what was predicted, the result of a moment of pure inspiration from Rodrigo Garro. With a free kick still far from the goal to Weverton’s guard, the ’16’ shirt tried his luck. The choice was indicated, since the spherical stopped where the owl sleeps. Arena Barueri was completely silent, already in the last step of the duel.Â
Also noteworthy is the expulsion of Cassio, minutes before the institutions previously mentioned. Despite the result, Palmeiras continues to lead group B of the 1st phase, with 18 points. Corinthians is in 11th place in the general league table.

Impressive 4-2 Comeback: União de Leiria Beats Belenenses in Liga Portugal SABSEG
União de Leiria and Belenenses, on the 22nd round of the Liga Portugal SABSEG, played one of the matches of the round. In a duel with six goals, the home team turned the result around and, after losing 0-2, ended up winning (4-2).
Happy strategy
Vasco Faísca surprised when choosing the starting eleven. For the intermediate sector, he gave up on the usual pair of faster players and opted for five units with other technical arguments, which, being less fast, treat the ball in a different way.
The decision bore fruit. Apart from the opening goal, scored by Chapi — one of those five midfielders —, Belenenses felt little bothered in the first half. He managed the advantage well and came out well under the pressure imposed by the unionists. It was only towards the end of the first half, led by Jordan van der Gaag, that the home team reached the opposite goal with greater danger.
The second half started with a goal. Once again the midfielders — Vasco Faísca’s bet won — in the play; Xavi crossed, Mica took an opponent out of the way and shot to the near post, to double the blue advantage.
The right choice
The key to the match was this second goal. Belenenses disappeared and, unhappy with the result, Vasco Botelho da Costa launched Marcos Silva into the match, essential in the future somersault, especially due to the energy he brought to the unionist display.
With greater desire, the goals came; Marcos led, played to Jordan who, with magic, took an opponent out of the way and served Paul. With a draw on the horizon, the Leirienses didn’t take their foot off the scoreboard and, rightly, jumped ahead. First, due to a misfortune by David Grilo, the draw came and, later, Empis and Rashaan, with two left-handed shots in the area, scored the winning goals.
A fairer result than this was impossible — during the different phases, the team that performed best in the game was always awarded. With this outcome, UD Leiria rose to ninth place and reached FC Porto B, Benfica B and Paços de Ferreira in the table. On the other side, Belenenses did not leave last place.
