Bergen police respondedโ toโค several reports of disturbances and alleged fights โin the city โcentre late Saturday night and early Sunday morning. Aโฃ man in his 50s was initially arrested following anโข incidentโข where violence was directed towardsโข two individuals. Johannessen stated a man in hisโ 20s was taken into custody after โคbecoming “very drunk and aggressive” when denied entry to a nightclub. โThe โคman allegedly kicked and struck security guards, and remained โขuncooperative even afterโค police arrived.
Further incidentsโข were โreported at the party square around 11:30 PM, where aโข man in his 20s was arrested for making threats againstโค another โman,โ with Johannessen โnoting the two โขindividualsโ were โnot โknown to โeach other. โฃOn-duty โlawyer Eli Andrea Skaar confirmed โฃthat two individuals are โขcurrently in custody regarding threats, with one incident occurring “in the center of Bergen.” A case has not yetโค beenโ formally opened for the second โฃthreat allegation.
police โalso received a report โof a fight at Festplassen at 1:41 AM. operations manager Frode Kolltveit described the โsituation as tough to clarify. “There was a person lying on the ground and โขshouldโ haveโฃ been beaten several times, and there mustโ have been about six involved people,” he said. Anโ ambulanceโข wasโข dispatched, but those involved had already dispersed by the time police โarrived. โข
“the patrol got control of thoseโ who ran,โข and they โsaid itโข was all just nonsense,” Kolltveit explained. “Weโ did not โฃget โขin โtouch with either insulted or suspected. The ambulance also did not bring anyone.” He characterizedโข the incident as a typicalโฃ weekendโข assignment, stating, โฃ”Fightingโ is reported, and thenโ they sprinkle. Fortunately, โฃthere was โฃlittle damage, and more amp. There willโข beโฃ no case out of this.”
police received โคa notification regarding a potential altercation in the โคLaundry River area, with reports โขsuggesting a fight between two groups of individuals,โ estimated at 6-7 people in one group and an โขunspecified number โin the other. However, โupon arrival, the groupsโ were in the process of leaving. Kolltveit confirmed violence โwas reported, but noโ injuries were documented. “It hasโ probably boiled away in little and nothing,” he concluded.
