KPK Invites Polda Metro Jaya and Polri Headquarters for Coordination Meeting on Alleged Extortion Case

Jakarta –

Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) invited Polda Metro Jaya and Polri Headquarters to hold a coordination meeting. The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) said the coordination meeting was related to a request for supervision of the alleged extortion case against former Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo (SYL) by the KPK leadership.

“The information we received was correct. Friday (10/11), the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) invited Polda Metro Jaya and Polri Headquarters to coordinate regarding the handling of the alleged extortion case which they are currently handling,” said Head of KPK News Division Ali Fikri to reporters, Thursday (9/11/2023).

Ali said a coordination meeting would be held tomorrow morning at the KPK’s Red and White Building. Ali said coordination was carried out before the supervision stage.

“Invitation for coordination at 09.00 WIB at the KPK’s Red and White Building. This coordination stage is the stage before supervision is carried out,” said Ali.

This coordination stage, said Ali, will determine whether supervision is needed or not. The Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) will listen to explanations from Polda Metro Jaya and Police Headquarters regarding the handling of the alleged extortion case.

“This coordination stage is what determines whether a case needs supervision or not. This coordination is the initial stage for the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) to listen to explanations from Polda Metro Jaya and Polri Headquarters regarding the handling of the case,” he said.

“The explanation certainly does not get to the point of the case, because it is still in the coordination stage and not supervision,” he added.

Ali said that after that the Corruption Eradication Committee (KPK) would review the explanation from Polda Metro Jaya and Bareskrim Polri. Ali said the coordination stage was different from supervision.

“From the information obtained later, the KPK will then review it to determine whether the KPK needs to carry out supervision or not. So, you need to know that the coordination stage is different from supervision,” he said.

The case of alleged blackmail by KPK leaders against SYL has now risen to the level of investigation. Corruption Eradication Committee Chairman Firli Bahuri has also been questioned as a witness.

Jakarta –

Anti-Football Mafia Task Force again named 2 suspects in connection with the case match fixing or fixing scores in matches in League 2. The National Police revealed that the two suspects face up to 5 years in prison with a maximum fine of IDR 15 million.

Deputy Chief of Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and Head of the National Police Anti-Mafia Football Task Force, Inspector General Asep Edi Suheri, said that the two new suspects, namely VW and DR. VW, according to him, is the former owner of club Y and DR is the club administrator.

“We have applied Article 2 of Law No. 11 of 1980 concerning the Crime of Bribery in conjunction with Article 55 paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code with a maximum penalty of 5 years and a fine of Rp. 15 million,” said Asep. in a press conference at National Police Headquarters, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, Thursday (12/10/2023).

Asep Edi said that their motive for bribing the referee was so that the club they ordered would win the match. The goal is for the club to advance to League 1.

“The suspect DR’s motive for committing bribery was to win club Y so that it could enter or advance to league 1,” said Asep.

VW, said Asep, played an active role in lobbying the referee and asked the referee’s apparatus to win for the club he ordered. He also promised the referee would give something.

“As for the suspect DR, he was one of the administrators of club Y at that time and DR acted as a financier whose funds would be handed over to VW to organize and win matches for club Y,” he explained.

In this case, the National Police Anti-Mafia Football Task Force has named 8 people as suspects. The suspects are R as the middle referee, T as assistant referee 1, R as assistant referee 2, A as reserve referee, K as LO referee, AS as money courier (DPO), VW, former club owner, and one of the club administrators with the initials DR .

Club Y is now competing in League 1

Asep Edi stated that Club Y, which was suspected of bribing the referee in the 2018 League 2 match, is now still actively competing in League 1. He revealed that Club Y won seven matches and only lost once.

“In several matches, club Y won. Except for 1, they went up to League 1. If I’m not mistaken, 1 of the 8 lost. But all of the 7 won,” said Asep.

“Currently, in 2023, we will still be in League 1,” he continued.

Furthermore, Asep confirmed that his party would still investigate the alleged fraud case. He stated that the handling of the match-fixing case was… entry point for the development of other cases.

“Entry point for developers and discover practices match fixing in future matches, both current and future matches in football competitions in Indonesia,” he concluded.

“Blackmail usually doesn’t stop” – Offenburg

by Chief editor of world-today-news.com January 18, 2023
written by Chief editor of world-today-news.com

Another young person has become a victim of so-called sextortion. He paid a four-digit sum.

According to the police headquarters in Offenburg, a young person from the northern district of Ortenau is the victim of so-called “sextortion” on Saturday evening. An unknown person asked him to transfer money. If he does not follow the instructions, intimate pictures that are said to have been created in a previous chat via “Snapchat” would be published. Ultimately, the victim transferred an amount in the lower four-digit range.

“Sextortion” is a form of crime in which the victim is threatened with the publication of nude photos or videos. As in the current case, according to the police, the perpetrators’ approach is “quite simple and insidious”. After the fraudsters have contacted the later victims via social platforms, an intimate picture of the alleged chat partner follows. The victim then receives a request to also send sexual recordings, otherwise the conversation is over. After the recordings have been sent, there is a threat to publish the picture or video on the Internet if the requested amount of money is not paid.

The police advise not to rashly agree to a video chat or the recording of intimate pictures, if in doubt, tape the chat camera, only communicate verbally and observe what is happening. It also advises, “Don’t agree to exposure or intimate dealings via video or chat history if you’ve only known the person for a short time.” The police recommend that anyone who has already been a victim ask the operator of the site to delete the image material: “Don’t transfer any money. The blackmail usually doesn’t stop after the payment.”

The gun that Anton bought was worth 50 thousand pesos without ammunition. The price of 50 thousand pesos is for the purchase of one M4 rifle.

Kadiv Inter-Division of Police Inspector General Krishna Murti conveyed that the National Police team had arrived in Manila, Philippines. The National Police team met with the Philippine National Police (Phillipines National Police) to cooperate in handling Anton who is currently being detained in the Sarangan Province area.

Chronology of the Arrest of Anton Gobay

Anton Gobay initially flew to the Philippines via Soekarno-Hatta Airport in September 2022. Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo said Anton flew to Ninoy International Airport, Philippines, but transited in Malaysia first.

Upon arriving in the Philippines, continued Dedi, Anton Gobay went straight to Danao City via the Leite route in December 2022 to buy senpi.

“Then proceed by using a van type car to Gensan with the final destination of Maitum, which is the place of departure for Indonesia,” Dedi told reporters, Friday (13/1/2023).

Dedi said Anton had previously conducted a survey of the route. However, Anton was finally arrested by the Philippine police on Saturday (7/1).

“AG chose the Davao City route because it was not equipped with X-ray equipment,” he said.

Anton admitted that he brought the gun from Danao City to Gensan alone. But when he arrives in Gensan, he will meet three people he knows from Facebook to take him to Maitum.

“Anton Gobay admitted that he knew beforehand that the people at Danao had the ability to produce, assemble and modify firearms, and sell them if an agreed price was offered according to the type of weapon,” he said.

Furthermore, Dedi said that when dealing with firearms, Anton only looked at the samples and then made the payment. He accepted the gun that was in the suitcase without checking again.
