These changes are expected to impact workers across all sectors, โprompting unions to call for a day of โaction to voice their concerns and demand further โnegotiation. The prefect of โthe Gironde, รtienne Guyot, stated โlast night, “the โคimportance of โguaranteeing the exerciseโ of the fundamental freedom to demonstrate, while ensuring respect for otherโ public freedoms, in particular the security of people and goods as โwell as freedom of movement” and warned that “Any unrelated rally or presentation is illegal.”
In Bordeaux, a demonstration is scheduled from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., organized by the UD CGT, CFDT, andโ UNSA inter-union.The march will begin at Place de la Bourse, proceeding โalong โQuai des Douanes, Cours Alsace etโ Lorraine,โค rue desโข Frรจres Bonie, Cours d’Albret, Cours โAristide Briand, andโข concluding with dispersal at Place de la Victoire.
Further south,in Langon,aโค demonstration is planned for 6:00 p.m. at the call of the UD CGT inter-union, โFSU-SNU, and FO, taking place before the sub-prefecture.
Libourne will also see action, withโข a demonstration set for โ11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.,โฃ organized by โคtradeโ union organizations including UU CGT Libourne, โฃSGA CFDT, FSU, FS, and SUD. The route will start inโฃ front of the Robert Boulin hospital, then proceed along Rue de la โMarne, Pont Pline Parmentier, avenue Gallieni, place des Martyrs de la Rรฉsistance, rue Chanzy, allรฉes Robert โBoulin, Esplanade โFranรงois Mitterrand, and rue Gambetta Overhamps.
