Tusk โAccusesโค Kaczyลski of Hypocrisy on Immigration Ahead of PiS Rally
WARSAW, Poland – Donald Tusk sharply criticized Jarosลaw Kaczyลski on Friday, accusing teh Law and Justice (PiS) leader of bringing a recordโค number of migrants to polandโ while concurrently calling for protests against immigration. The remarks came as PiS prepares to hold a rally inโฃ Warsaw’s โฃCastle Squareโ today at 2 PM, protesting โillegal immigration and theโ Mercosur agreement.
Tusk’s statement, posted on X (formerly Twitter), read: “Only Jarosลaw Kaczyลski can bring โฃa record number โof migrants to Poland and then call for โขa protest againstโค migration.” This followsโฃ a report by the Supreme Audit Office revealing thatโค the PiS government issued โ6.5 โmillion visas between 2018 and 2022 – exceeding the numbers issued by Spain โคand Germany during the same โperiod.โฃ Data citedโ in the report indicates over 366,000 of those visas โwere granted to citizens of Muslim and African countries, โwith concernsโ raised about a lack of oversight by the Ministryโค of foreign Affairs regarding entry โdocumentation.
Kaczyลski responded to Tusk’s criticism,โ stating, “Donaldโ Tusk is โฃmore and more afraid. โit’s understandable: he lostโข on June 1, andโข now โคanother plan is falling apartโฆ We will stopโ the migration Pact and remove this harmful government from power.โ There is only โฃoneโ condition: we must be together – just like we were on June 1.”
PiS officials โคhave framed today’s rally as a preventative measure against threats facing Westernโ Europe. โคMariusz Bลaszczak, โhead of the PiS parliamentary โฃclub, stated the rally aims to preventโค those threats from reaching Poland.โ The partyโ alsoโข plans to collect signatures โขfor a citizens’ initiative to hold a referendum on rejecting the EU Migration Pact. Rafaล Bochenek, a PiS spokesman, announced that several speakers associated with โthe โคparty, including Kaczyลski, are scheduled to address the demonstration, withโข expectations of aโฃ turnout “of several thousand people.”
