Chรขtillon-sur-Seine Pharmacies Join National Effort to Support Women Facing โขCancer
Chรขtillon-sur-Seine, France – local pharmacies are bolstering a nationwide initiative providing comfortโค and care โto women battling cancer. The Saint-Vorles,Rive-de-Seine,and Centrale pharmaciesโค are now โฃofficial collection points for “Donne ton soutif” (Donate Your Bra),a French association โcelebratingโข its โ5th โanniversary and dedicated to supporting women throughout theirโ cancer journey.
The “Donne ton soutif”โ association operates over 1,500 collection points across France, and emphasizes a year-round commitment to the cause, operating under the motto: “Pink October is 365 days a year.” Collected bras are resold, with proceeds directly funding comfort treatmentsโ andโข adapted physical activities for women undergoing treatment and recovery. In the โlastโ six months alone, the association has redistributed โฌ3,560 for these vital services.
At the Saint-Vorles pharmacy,a collection point established roughly a week ago, approximately ten bras have already been donated. Pharmacist Stรฉphane Aubry highlighted the importance of โคthe initiative, stating his team responds “always with pleasure” when presented with opportunities to help. “We’re accustomed to getting involved in various solidarity actions,” โAubry explained.
The pharmacy’s participation is furtherโฃ strengthened by โขaโฃ collaboration with aโ local nurse, reinforcing the project’s community ties.
Bras suitable for resale must be clean and retain their size label for โคaccurate sorting. Those that don’t meet theseโฃ criteria are donated to partner organizations like theโฃ Redโ Cross for alternative repurposing. Resalable โขbras are then repackaged and sold through pop-up shops and โขgarage sales, directly translating donations into tangible support for women in need.
