Monte dei Paschi Siena Rating Boost Fuels Market Activity on Borsa Italiana
Milan, Italy – October 3, โ2025 – โA ratings upgradeโ for Monteโข dei Paschi di Sienaโ spurred movement across โsegments โคof the โBorsa โขItaliana today, while meaningful โคvolatility โคmarked individual โฃstock โperformances. โฃthe rating agency DBRS Morningstarโ raised Monte dei Paschi diโ Siena’s long-term โdeposit rating to “BBB (High)” from “BBB (Low),” citing the bank’s ability toโข generate lasting profits and โคan advancement in credit quality. The outlook on โthe long-term ratingโ remains positive.
The upgrade comes following the conclusion of the Opas on Mediobanca,contributing to โขtheโ creation โof a larger,more diversified bankingโ group.Mediobanca shares closed down 0.66% โat 16.46 euros. Positive momentum was also โขseen in BancoBPM, which โgained 1.46%โ to reach 12.815 euros.
Elsewhere, Prysmian experienced a 1.14% drop to 87 euros despiteโข some business banks revising the company’s target priceโข upwards. Fincantieri led gainsโข in the Midcap segment, risingโ 4.56% to 26.12 euros โขafter Deutsche Bank analystsโค raised their target price to 26 euros and reaffirmed aโ ‘buy’ rating. Pharmanutra added 2.56% to close at 48.05 euros,continuing a positive trend from the previous session. Ferrari showed strong volatility, ending up 1.68% atโ 54.6 euros after โขreaching an intraday โขhigh ofโฃ 58.7 โคeuros.
The Starโข segment saw a dramatic downturn forโฃ AEFFE,โ which plummeted 43.3% to 0.253 euros after announcing its intention to โคfile for access to a negotiated composition of the group business โcrisis (CNC). โ
On the Euronext Growth Milan, โขAlmawave surged 38.8% to 4.29โ euros following Almaviva’s proclamation of a voluntary public takeover offer for 30.5% of theโค company’s shares at 4.3โฃ euros per share – a 39.2% premium overโฃ the October 2,โ 2025 closing price of 3.09 euros.
