The early rounds coverage and featured groups can be viewed on ESPN+. The main coverage begins later in the day on The Golf Channel and CBS, which can be streamed through FuboTV.
After the cuts, the field is down to 80, and Chris Gotterup, who finished nine-under in the second round, will try to hold onto a two-shot lead through the weekend.
The competition is stiff at the Renaissance Club, as ten other golfers remain within four strokes of the lead, including Ludvig Aberg (-8), Rory McIlroy (-7), and Jake Knapp (-7). The always dangerous Xander Schauffele (-6) and Scottie Scheffler (-5) remain within striking distance with two rounds to play.
After finishing Thursday with a score of -2, McIlroy put it all together on Friday, carding a 65, which will give him some momentum heading into his final two rounds.
For the average player, a six-shot hole might be too much to overcome heading into a Saturday, but for Scheffler, he will approach this as business as usual. If anyone can storm back during the weekend and position himself for a finish at or near the top of the leaderboard, it is the world number one ranked golfer.
This is a great PGA Tour event that you will not want to miss; be sure to tune in to catch all the action.

LeBron James may have just signed what could be his final NBA contract, but judging by his latest Instagram post, retirement stress isn’t weighing him down, at least not on the golf course.
The 40-year-old Lakers star opted into his $52.6 million player option for the 2025–26 season, marking his record-setting 23rd year in the league. With trade rumors swirling and his wife Savannah reportedly nudging him toward retirement, fans are watching every move.
But on Friday, James gave fans something unexpected, in short: a golf video.
And it went viral for exactly the reason you’d expect.

The clip, posted on his Instagram account (@kingjames), had him teeing off at an undisclosed sunny course, cigar in mouth, dressed in a striped shirt and shorts plus a golf cap.
Talk about his swing? Just say it drew comparisons to Charles Barkley’s famously awkward form. “Day 2 of officially trying this out!” James wrote in the caption. “Boy o Boy it’s a mind f**k to say the least! But I think I enjoy that part of it a lot! Haha!”
He tagged friends and joked about Slide 4 being “so funny,” where his swing nearly missed the ball entirely.
The video quickly went viral on social media, making fans flood the comments with hilarious jabs from the golf world, including professionals.
PGA of America commented, “Uh oh, somebody is getting addicted to golf 😂,” followed by another comment saying, “Swing looks good, LeBron. We got you on the lessons when you’re ready 🤝.”
PGA Tour winner Min Woo Lee too couldn’t control himself and joked, “Come a long way since the topgolf video 😂”
If all this was not enough, James’ NBA buddy Kevin Love too joined fans mocking the wide-open fairway. “Who created that course… Moses?,” he posted.
But not all reactions were teasing. Stephen Curry, a known golf enthusiast, welcomed LeBron with a warm six-word message, “Welcome. We’ve been waiting for you.”
Even the LAGC team from Tiger Woods‘s TGL also chimed in, typing, “A swing worthy of the 👑,” followed by: “@kingjames we can’t wait for this new journey!”
LeBron isn’t the only NBA legend turning to golf in the offseason. Just last week, Michael Jordan went viral for trash-talking NFL legend Lawrence Taylor on the greens.
“You really been on a motherf**king relaxation since retirement!” Jordan joked, pointing at Taylor’s slip-ons. The clip had fans in stitches and reminded everyone that golf is the go-to sport for retired greatness.
Other stars like Steph Curry, Dwyane Wade, and Klay Thompson have long embraced the game. Curry even won the 2023 American Century Championship and continues to promote youth golf through his Underrated Golf Tour.

Spaun Secures U.S. Open Victory Amidst Rain
J.J. Spaun has clinched his first major championship at the U.S. Open, a triumphant moment marked by skill and resilience. His performance at Oakmont Country Club showcased impressive consistency and nerve, earning him a significant victory.
Spaun’s Championship Performance
Throughout the tournament, Spaun demonstrated exceptional play, navigating the challenging course with precision. He shot a 66, 72, 69, and 72 across the four rounds. The final round was interrupted by heavy rain, adding to the day’s intensity, yet Spaun maintained his composure.
The delay of 96 minutes due to rain didn’t deter Spaun, who sealed his win with a birdie on the 18th hole. His performance, going one under par that day, showcased his skill and determination.
The U.S. Open’s Competitive Spirit
The competition was fierce, with several golfers vying for the lead. The top five players were tied for several holes, or only one stroke behind. This heightened the excitement. The rain-soaked course at Oakmont added to the drama, making every shot a test of skill and strategy.
His victory highlights the importance of mental fortitude in professional golf. In fact, only 30% of professional golfers possess the mental game to win consistently, according to a recent study (Golf Pro Insights).
Local Protests & Current Events
In unrelated news, demonstrations took place across the Susquehanna Valley, with protestors voicing their concerns. These events reflect a broader pattern of public engagement and activism. Protests occurred in several areas, including Continental Square and Ben Sasse Park.
The demonstrators expressed disapproval of the current administration’s actions. Their actions highlighted their dedication to exercising their First Amendment rights and supporting one another.
Demonstrations also took place in Harrisburg and Carlisle, where a diverse group voiced their frustrations. Protesters showed their disapproval of current policies and their dedication to their communities.
