Prague โ- โSinger and musician Vladimรญr Miลกรญk,a cornerstone of Czech rock โคand folk music, received two โawards over theโค weekend – a โฤeskรฝ โSlavรญk (Czech Nightingale)โค award โfor Song โฃof the year and a lifetime achievement award at โthe Andฤl music โawards. โขThe 74-year-old artist, โฃknown for โhis distinctiveโข voice and poetic lyrics, โฃexpressed surprise at the accolades, revealing a โlong-held unfamiliarity with receiving such honors.
miลกรญk entered the Hall of Fame at the karlรญn Music Theater’s Andฤl Awardsโ (then called Grams) in 1994,โ anโ honour he initially felt was premature. “It was basically for merit, but โI thought it was aโข bit premature. It was my firstโ award andโ for a long time the only one. But now it’s clear that it wasn’t the last,” he said. Despite โฃhis initial reservations, โขMiลกรญk acknowledged enjoyingโค recognition from both experts and fans.
The โคawards come โas Miลกรญk navigates a creative block, admitting he currently lacks inspiration โfor new music. “I don’t wontโ to make excusesโ for โฃmy health problems, even thoughโ these are things that โคdon’t add much to โa person’s appetite for writing and composing. The important โthing is โthat I don’t find inspiration. He โฃemphasized that his motivation for creating musicโ has always beenโ personal enjoyment and livelihood, โnot โthe pursuit of prizes.
