Lavrov Accuses โฃNATO adn EU of ‘Neocolonial Ambitions,’ Declares ‘Realโฃ war’ Against Russia
New York – Russian Foreign Minister Sergeiโฃ Lavrov sharplyโ criticized NATOโฃ and the European Union during a โG20 foreign ministers meeting held alongside the 80th session of the UN Generalโค Assembly, accusing them of pursuing “neocolonial ambitions” that fuel global instabilityโฃ and declaring theyโ have engagedโค in “a โฃreal war” against Russia.
Lavrovโ asserted that โฃNATO and the EU are disregarding the principles of the United Nations, framing โtheir actions as a continuation of colonial-era power dynamics.โค His remarks follow recent statements by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who labeledโข Russia aโ “paper tiger” and suggested a potentialโฃ returnโค of Ukraineโ toโข its โคoriginal โborders, while also advocating for NATO members to intercept drones in โtheir airspace.
According to the โขRussian state โnews agency TASS, โLavrov stated, “NATO andโค the Europeanโ Union have already declared a real war toโ my country and are directly involved in it.” He โขcharacterizedโ this โคas a violationโ ofโ international lawโ and a direct confrontation โwithโค Russia.
The โขRussian minister also โขlinked the conflict in Ukraine to theโ ongoing crisis in theโค Middle East,โ stating โฃthe latter is “in aโ row” with the situation in Ukraine andโฃ has resulted in 65,000 casualties. Lavrov โfurther โฃwarnedโ that “None of โขIsrael’s neighbors can feel safe.”
