Former Metrodome Seats Continue โtoโ Appear in Minnesota Sports Facilities
Minneapolis, โMN – Remnants โคof the iconic Metrodome are still being spotted in current Minnesotaโข sports venues, yearsโ after the stadium’s โdemolition in 2014. โRecent Streetview images reveal blue โseats originally from the Metrodome are in useโข at Target โคField, home of the โขMinnesota Twins, asโฃ of 2024.This โrevelation highlights the enduringโฃ legacy of the “Dome” and the continuedโค efforts toโฃ repurpose pieces of its history.
The Metrodome,which served as the home for both โฃthe Minnesotaโข Vikings and Twins for โdecades,was โขimploded in January 2014 toโ make way for โU.S. Bank Stadium. While many seats were sold โto the public, aโค significant number found new homes in โother facilities across the country. Beyond โขTarget Field, online records indicate Metrodome seatsโ have been distributed for use in various settings throughout Minnesota and other states, โคpreserving a tangible connection to the โคstadium’s past forโค fansโค and communities.
Following the โขdemolition, over 60,000 seats wereโ made available for purchase. Many were acquiredโค by individuals, but โขa substantial portion was also purchased by organizations and institutions.
