Rīga – Musician Patriks Piternieks released his first single in Latvian on February 22, 2026, marking a significant step in his solo career. The song, titled “Tālēs zilajās” (In the Distant Blues), is a romantic composition that follows years of perform as a producer and guitarist for other artists, including the group “Rīgas Modes.”

Piternieks, who previously participated in the show “X Faktors,” has been actively involved in the Latvian music scene, most recently collaborating with “Rīgas Modes” as both a producer and guitarist in 2025. The group is known for its indie-pop sound and critically acclaimed albums, including “Fantastiski” and “Patiesie Nodomi,” and features musicians such as Kalvis Bormanis and Reinis Papulis.

Prior to focusing on his solo work, Piternieks demonstrated his compositional skills with the song “Worth,” which reached the final stage of an international songwriting competition, receiving recognition among over 46,000 entries. His debut album, “Lost My Mind,” was released in 2021.

The release of “Tālēs zilajās” represents Piternieks’ return to writing and performing in Latvian. While details regarding the song’s inspiration and creation remain limited, its title and genre suggest an emotionally resonant and thoughtful piece of music. The single is expected to serve as a precursor to further musical plans, building on his experience as a producer and guitarist.

The launch of the single coincides with the preparations for the “Bourzma Boutique” festival, a leading event for sustainable fashion and youth culture in Latvia, scheduled for May 21-22, 2026, in Rīga. The festival, founded by Patriks Kirkils, aims to support young creatives and promote circular economy principles within the fashion industry.

Looking ahead to 2026, fashion trends are also shifting, with designer André Tans predicting a move away from polka dot patterns towards more romantic and delicate motifs. Tans also highlighted the growing popularity of “jelly” shoes, expected to be a key trend for the warm season and pouch bags.
