Junaid Miran, an independent artist, claims elements of his work were incorporated intoโ the film without โhis permission.
Miran’s claim surfaced following โคthe film’s release, which has reportedly โbeen viewed by 2,341 people andโ generated anโข estimated Rp. 93.6 million โฃ(approximately โข$6,000 USD)โข in box office revenue based on a Rp. 40,000 ticket price. However, Miranโ faces important financialโค hurdles in pursuing legal recourse, as international lawsuitsโค require considerable funds for legal fees, administration, โand travel expenses.
To finance his legal battle,Miran has launched a crowdfunding campaign through Patreon,offering 10 digital artworks in 6K resolution themed around Indonesian and Red and White culture for approximatelyโ USD $5 (Rp. 82,000). He โassuresโข buyers they are free to use the artworkโค without further royalty payments.
“If we reach the target of specific โquantities for legal costs,then I promiseโข to live this thoroughly,” Miran stated inโ a YouTube video. he intends to hire a lawyer, formally submit a demand, and represent himself in court with the support received.
